I saw this movie last week and I must say that this movie disappointed me. The only reason why I went to see the movie was because it looked so spectacular in the commercials. Too bad all the exiting things that happen in the movie are already shown in the commercials.

It isn't an entirely bad movie though, but it's a bit boring in my opinion. It is a very interesting idea if you ask me to make a movie about pre-historic humans but they show a wrong image of the movie in the advertising. Again an example that you shouldn't trust commercials Wink

Anyone else saw the movie? What did you think of it? And is there anyone here as disappointed as I am?

I honestly thought about seeing this movie because I thought it looked over all interesting and the whole plot and story of the movie could have been good. The graphics in the movie looked like they could have been amazing from what I saw in the commercials, but after reading so many reviews on it only after the first day of it being opened I decided to listen to what everyone was saying and take the route of not going.

Like you, I read that many people were disappointed with it and people thought it would be something much different than they originally thought. It's sad when someone sees the trailer and it looks like it's going to be a great movie and ends up being a real disappointments. I actually thought it might be good but with the words I've been hearing from most of the people that saw it I'm going to stay away and maybe watch it when it's on DVD.

The movie looks decent to me, but I'll wait until it's on DVD. It seems like yet another movie that has great special effects and a poor plot.

Movie makers need to focus on the plot more, instead of just pumping most of the money into special effects. A good movie needs decent acting and plot more than it needs great special effects.

Yup this movie was quite boring. I was expecting some awesome scenes like I saw in the commercials but I got dissappointed. They just travel and walk and walk to get the girl back. That's like a hindi movie.

I saw it with my girlfriend the day after the premier, and got really disapointed.
The first half was OK, probable historical facts, nice ambientation and a good plot, but after they start the trip, everything turns out very boring and fantastic to be entertaining.

I agree with the posters above me. This movie disappointed me so hard. They fooled me, as others mentioned, with the commercials.

I regret buying the damn thing.

Well, I watched to movie on DVD without having heard much about it in advance.
There are two good things about this movie: the visual effects and the action or thrill that is present throughout the movie. The story was quite simplistic, though. It could have been much more, especially with all those myths and legends surrounding the Pyramids, Atlantis and those ancient tribes. That should provide more than enough material to create a compelling story. Unfortunately, this film lacks one.
