A 500 internal server error can have many causes. Any feedback is rather useless without the error log entry.
To find the error in your error log, first visit your site to trigger the error. View the error log via cPanel and look for the current date and your IP address (the time, however, is likely different due to the location of the server). _________________ If you can read this, my post is on an alternating background. |

ClickFanatic, the error is most likely the that quite a few of us have:

I know. It happens only to files uploaded to public_html. Subdirectories work fine.
I opened a support ticket regarding the issue, which was resolved. But I believe the real issue is still there. Got to double check that, though. _________________ If you can read this, my post is on an alternating background. |
