Greetings again everyone!

I am pleased to announce that after much testing the new backup system improvements are finally live.

As of last week the following is the established system for storing backups at Lifelesspeople.com:

Complete account backups including emails, databases, contents of all folders of your account, settings, and so on are taken and stored on a separate hard drive.

These backups are taken once per day and stored in the daily folder. Once per week the daily folder of that day is copied into the weekly folder and then once per month the daily backup of that day is copied into the monthly folder as a monthly snapshot of the account.

This means that we have daily, weekly, and monthly backups of your data stored on a second hard disk in the server in case we need to restore part of your account.

The last piece of the current system was to store a copy of these backups on a separate server to ensure that in case of a hard drive crash or complete hardware failure that we would be able to rebuild the server quickly while minimizing the amount of data lost.

Once per week after the daily backups are copied into the weekly folder and the weekly backups are then copied to another server that is acting as network storage for many servers. This network storage server has RAID hard drives and its sole use is to store backups of this type.

After all this I would also like to remind everyone of the TOU provisions regarding backups:

Quote:

14. Backup and Monitoring. Client is solely responsible for creating backups of any files associated with the Site and for monitoring the Site.

You are solely responsible for your own backups and we urge you to keep current backups of your entire website just in case. Smile

Next up today I have another announcement to make that will apply to some of our more seasoned members.

As of October 14th we will be introducing the limited availability of a new plan level called L2Perfect

This plan level is for existing account holders and forum members that have been with us for a very long time. It is designed to be our way of saying thank you.

L2Perfect will consist of the following pricing and features: (Normal Domain/Subdomain account conditions apply)

Disk Space: 175MB
Data Transfer: 2GB (2048MB)
5 of each feature (MySQL databases, Email Addresses, and so on)
1 Addon Domain and 1 Parked Domain
Monthly PBPP: 200

The following restrictions apply to this account:

You must have either:

1) Have been a forum member for over 1 year (12 months) and have an active hosting account for at least 90 days with no warnings.

2) Have been a forum member for over 1 year (12 months) and have a post count of over 1200 posts.

3) Have a post count of over 1500 posts and have an active hosting account for at least 90 days with no warnings.

To convert to this plan you will need to put in a support ticket to Billing Support to request your account be switched over to this plan.

We hope everyone has a great day. Smile
