I am having a problem with windows media player right now (latest Vista version?)
it doesn't seem to be adding all the files within the music folder (which is selected for it to skin and rescan) in to the library. I don't have an idea as into why it's not adding them all, but i'm still searching on the net for answers.

In the library folder settings it has an option for "add volume-leveling values for all files"

does anyone actually know what that is and what it means?

thanks

and if you have any suggestions as into how to get it to add all the files automatically, please reply. I know i can make it add them all after i opened them manually, but that kinda sucks Silly

Some audio files are recorded at different volume levels. The leveling makes all of the music the same volume.

ohh, i get it now. makes sense Silly Some songs are meant to be louder, so i'll leave that disabled.

Also i think i have resolved my problem with windows media player not adding all the files. I searched and came up with some info on system folder attributes, and for some reason windows media player will not add some of those folders with certain ones. Which makes no sense to me.

Since i copied all these folders from a drive on a network computer i figured that this could be what is causing my problems. They had some command line codes that i could use, but instead of messing with all that I just went into the music folder > ctrl+a to select all the files and folders > Right clicked and went to properties and make all the files, folders and folders within read only, and then I undid it. I suppose this rewrote the attributes and then windows media player finally added alot of the albums and folders that it wouldn't before Very Happy so thats cool.

thanks for your reply.
