It has been a while since I got back onto the computer. Life has been really busy or me with school and what not, however I am trying to get into internet marketing and would love to become a very successful with google adsense. ( Who wouldn't )
Anyways, I know how the program work but don't really now how to get started. I am posting this in hopes that someone here is making a decent amount and could educate me with the strategies you use. |

Good luck, you're in the same boat as millions of others and you're probably not going to get any further. Especially as it seems you're starting afresh, note that advertising will bring in very little revenue. Small sites generally fare better with well targeted affiliate programs. As you build on, you can strike deals and form partnerships to offer producers' products for discounted prices to provide a further incentive to your sites' visitors.
Case in point, I have a site which is ridiculously simple, it is just a whipped together page with a stock template and images with little content, a web hosting provider comparison to be more specific. Selling the service after the review with a few coupons I find here and there, it gets not much obviously but hits an average of about $250 a month slowly growing. I trialled advertising with Adbrite and Adsense and they earned a fraction of that (~$50 a month for the four months I tried it) and probably ended up being a detriment as they detracted users from the main source of revenue, the affiliate links, and also made the site less aesthetically desirable.
Whatever you do, don't become an "adsense god" that spams the **** out of the internet with those link filled sites.
Or you could actually provide a service. _________________

Thanks for the advice, but if you are making 50$ a month from a "simple" website with not much content, I think that would be considered Amazing!
If you don't mind sharing with me the website that you use.
300$ a month isn't bad from a whipped together website. _________________ http://www.netnewb.com |

As someone who has been Adsense user for just over 4 years now, I think it is a great deal of trouble to be successful with. I have made about $520 with different sites over the past 4 years (about $10/month, although I had a few months with my sites offline). As krt pointed out, most people that are successful with Adsense are just ridiculous spammers. They just automatically generate spam sites and fill them with their Adsense code.
To be honest, one of the most important things in my opinion is the topic of your web site (and your target audience). Personally, my sites cater to a more technologically savvy group, because they are web development related tutorials. So I don't get very many clicks, how often do technology people actually click on ads? (when was the last time you clicked on one?) Most people that visit my site probably have Adblock anyways.
I am personally ready to get out of my internet marketing attempts, and create a site that actually provides a service. It is just too much trouble for very little reward, especially lately, despite the traffic increasing my revenue has been going down. _________________ TutorialToday |
