I have to say, the MacBook Air looks amazing. How thin it is, the battery life (5 hours with solid state hard drive), no cd drive though, comes external (although I suppose thats what happens when you make a laptop that thin) but I do think that they could have made the cd drive like a PS3, this may have worked with the space that they had.
I also like that they are incorporating 802.11n, very good move.
I didn't know that they were releasing a iPhone v2 though, hopefully they upgrade some of the hardware components! _________________ [img:6f96f9609b]http://www.a-talk.co.uk/img/icon.gif[/img:6f96f9609b]

I'm not really into the mac book. Mostly because it has to run OSX or whatever, and i loathe Apple's OS's entirely.
So it doesn't do much for me. if it had another OS such s the amazing windows, then maybe it'd be cool
I'd actually wanna be able to do something on it.
The Iphone is pretty cool though. Didn't know they'd be coming out with a new version of it this soon, but i guess it has already been out for a while, which is cool.
I have no idea what Time Capsule is. I'm not in the mood to google _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com |

Great, a retardedly thin laptop that breaks functionality for form!
Apparently, all you have to do is touch the laptop and it will break. _________________ I talk to the rain |

Lol, where are you getting your information? This is purely a fabrication with no factual basis at all. Anything about any hypothetical "iPhone v2" is simply a rumor, absolutely nothing more.
To stress - there is no new iPhone and won't be for a while!
What IS true is that the CURRENT iPhone will have an SDK released within a month or so that allows developers to create native applications for it. This will fill in almost all of the holes that people complain about. Except for hardware things, of course. But 3G and storage space are about the only things I can think of.
However, there will almost definitely exist the ability to stream from your iTunes library to your iPhone after the SDK is released. So storage space will become a nonissue, effectively. Access to my entire music library from my 8GB iPhone anywhere with wifi or cellular service (practically the whole world)? Pretty darn cool in my book.

To me, the biggest problems about the Macbook Air are the price (the absolute price and the fact that you can get a more powerful Macbook for considerably less) and the niche market it's aimed at. Other than that, it's a beautiful machine, a landmark in technological development.
For those who are seeking a notebook in this size range, though, the Macbook Air is clearly the best - by a long shot. A very long one.
To naysayers - I haven't used one, of course, but I'd be willing to bet the barn that this notebook is better built and more durable than any notebook you might have. All the PC-laptops I've used feel like toys compared to a Macbook or Macbook Pro. And the Macbook Air's casing is metal, not plastic like others in it's size-range.

Actually, the Macbook and Macbook Pro already use slot-loading drives (like the PS3). These still take up space internally, though, which is the real problem.
There's a feature for the Macbook Air that allows it to use the disc-drives of computer's on its LAN as if those were normal disc-drives inside of it. So if you need to use a disc drive, you have the option of either the add-on or another nearby computer.

Great product from what I've seen so far! Best of it's kind or anything similar, easily! Apple really hit the bull's eye with this one, I think.
It's pricey, but similar products aren't any cheaper. Particularly since this has draft-N AND gigabit wired. Although the benefit here is accented for Mac users, even windows users have much to benefit from with this product.
Again, Apple REALLY hit the spot on this one. It would be PERFECT if it was combined with the AppleTV into one product. But - if you have the cash - buying both would be an extremely useful complement to any media-using home. |

Looks like someone is just trying to score points with copy paste but never mind...
Iphone v2 is still a rumor, same as it was for the apple digital cam... However, there are firmware updates for both the iPhone and iPod touch (update for the iPod has a 20$ fee, the other one is free)...
What about the new iDonut in correlation to Apple TV, and the new free updates for the Apple TV?
About the comments for the MacBook Air, the whole idea was to make it thin... The processor is slow? What do you mean? My MacBook is a 2.16GHz and 1GB RAM, while this one is 2.8 and 1 GB RAM and weighs twise as little than mine... Yes, you cannot upgrade the hardware of the MacBook Air after it has been assembled, but do you really need to?
About the multi-touch I think that there is still no need for it.... who would actually use their hands for anything other than the keyboard... And if you want to draw on it, buy a Wacom Tablet |

Read the facts more closely, it's 1.6ghz and 1.8ghz offerings. _________________ I talk to the rain |

I am sorry, what I ment to write is 1.8GHz and 2GB RAM, not 2.8GHz and 1GB RAM

Actually, a new feature has been revealed that not only allows the Macbook Air to use network drives (HDD, CD, or or otherwise) but also to boot (!) over wifi. Pretty darn nifty and useful, if you ask me... hopefully they'll be making that feature available to other Apple notebooks over time.
Starbuck, what's this "iDonut" you're referring to...? |

It's something that will be incorporated into iTunes, and will be used to buy and "rent" HD movies online. Homer Simpson was the inspiration

The MacBook Air is worthless. You can't even access a regular network unless it has a wireless access point. _________________

Worthless? I really can't think of the last time I used a cable to access the internet... |

You still be able to access the wired network. there is USB ethernet hub to provide the LAN connection, but don't forget there is only 1 USB port in the Macbook air...
p.s.1 the iPhone thing is my local newspaper error, but I can't modify the post anymore, so I left it here.
p.s.2 I don't like wireless connection due to the security reason: wireless security is almost useless, access your web service via SSL (https://) if you can! _________________ Sleepless Cat‧The one looking for her path... |

You have to be joking, right? Cable VS wireless is not like XP VS OS X , it's more like XP VS Vista... Everything is volnerable unless you know how to secure your self properly...
