In my opinion, Van Persie and Bergkamp are very different
First off Van Persie isnt afraid to fly
But seriously, Van Persie is a natural finisher more than a hold up player, but he seems to only play well when Arsenal are playing well, would you agree?
What kind of money does Arsene have to spend this window? |

Hmmm... There is the flying aspect, but to be fair, if you had been in three incidents involving an aircraft, I think that you would look at flying in a different, and more than likely dark light!!
Arsenal have no more money than normal to spend in the current transfer window, but reports in The English Press suggest that Arsenal are about to table a FOURTYMILLION POUND deal to Thierry Henry, so to secure his future at the club for the next few years at least.
I have no official linkage to that report, apart from a link on a forum I visit, and one or two media portals.
Back to Robin Van Persie, he plays in the same mould as "The Iceman" Dennis Bergkamp, and as you pointed out, Graeme, is a natural finisher, but I see no role for him, under Wenger, than the role he currently adopts.....The understudy to Dennis Bergkamp!! _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

Hes a big girl, driving is more dangerous and he does that!
Hmm Arsene will have to whip out a few diamonds in the rough as he has in the past so, because Arsenal need a new keeper and Centre Mifielder
Have you been linked with any midfielders for this transfer window? |

No definite transfers thus far, but as you know, Arsene Wenger has a keen eye for a bargain, usually an unknown teenager from the continent.
There are a few whispers, but as yet there is nothing in stone.
Thierry Henry has, however, pledged his future to Arsenal, and should silence the critics by signing a new all-singing all-dancing contract in the summer, for a reported fourty million pounds, over a period of time. Call me old fashioned if you will, but that sort of money could never replace the man, who has recently overhauled the great Ian Wrights goalscoring record at the club. I did quote at some point, be it here or elsewhere, that Arsenal should make every penny of available funds open to keep him at Highbury, and just for once, this seems to be the case.
Now I just hope we can emulate our great rivals, Liverpool, and grace the fantastic mecca of football, Highbury, with one last trophy....The Champions League....

There are no whispers, suffice to say that I was at Anfield in 1989 when the balance of power shifted back to North London, Highbury

I very much doubt that in my lifetime, I will be able to witness FIVE European Cups, but I very much doubt that you have done the equal either!!!
To be fair, this season is possibly our best ever chance of some form of success in this, and until such time as Real Madrid, and/or subsequent teams put paid to that, I for one will be living the dream. _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

lose to you's?!
And you say SE13 is living in a dreamworld?! You's were lucky last season, wont happen again.
I can't see Arsenal winning it either to be honest, although their performance this season has been very impressive. In my opinion the cup will go to Barcelona this year. |

I agree to a certain degree, pjthefarmer. However, Arsenal have adopted a style of play far more suited to European games than in previous seasons, thus enhancing the possibilities of further progression than in years gone by. Real Madrid will be no push-over, and no Arsenal fan wuold say that they were. We have never before played them, so there is no history to compare. The game is also over two legs, with the first being away from home, so anything that might go wrong over there has an extra ninety minutes for repair on home soil.
The league has now surpassed even the wildest dreams, as Chelsea are so far ahead, so the current priorities will be to finish in the top four of The Premiership, obviously the higher the better, so as to not have to go through the qualification rounds to enter The Champions League next season, and to win some kind of silverware this season. The Carling (egg) cup is one for the youngsters and reserves in the squad, leaving The FA Cup (Progression to round four already complete) and The Champions League.
All the time The Champions League is open to us, the dream is still alive. Keep The Faith. _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

A very tough draw away to Bolton in the FA cup fourth round will probably mean having to field a nigh-on full strength team for that but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see a team full of kids and reserves play in the Mickey Mouse cup semi-final this week. _________________ [img:72f68c01cd]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/YorkshireMag/newcastle_fc_fan.gif[/img:72f68c01cd] |

To be honest, I doubt if the draw for the fourth round of The FA Cup could have been much unkinder to Arsenal Football Club. That said, there is a lot of talk about key players from both sides missing the fixture due to selection for The African Nations Cup. Bolton Wanderers would suffer more from the two squads, as several of their key players have been selected to attend the tournament, although there is a distinct possibility that several of Arsenals defenders may be missing as well. At the point of me posting this, I can not say for certain which players will be missing from each team, suffice to say that obviously I will update as and when I am aware.
Arsenal did actually put Bolton Wanderers out of this competition last season at the sixth round stage, also at The Reebok Stadium, so in view of the comments above, and the mere fact that it is not beyond the realms of impossibility, perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel... _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

True enough: never say never!
Interesting point about the African Nations cup too. I suppose it depends on whether or not any mysterious "injuries" occur around the time. Not that I'm cynical enough (OK, yes I am!) to suggest that a club manager would want to keep hold of one (or more) of his players in this country around the time to coincide with a tricky cup fixture! _________________ [img:72f68c01cd]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/YorkshireMag/newcastle_fc_fan.gif[/img:72f68c01cd] |

It is infinately possible that "injuries" might occur. The truth is, that Arsene Wenger was not allowed to put any players called up for the competition into Saturdays squad for the recent FA Cup game against Cardiff City. That in itself suggests to me that they will be making the trip over, if they have not already made the trip to Heathrow airport. As far as I am aware only Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue will be going, Cameroon were eliminated meaning Lauren stays in London.
Still, there is the excitement of tonights first leg Carling Cup semi-final to look forward to, where the kids will be given another run out. Apparently Arsenal have only sold ninehundred tickets for the fixture, but it is not an all-ticket affair, and supporters can pay on the door. _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

| I'm going to go with Arsenal 2 Newcastle 2. Souness was a master tactically against Arsenal at Blackburn. And last season we out played them completely at SJP despite a 1-0 defeat. But in both last seasons games who was the man who's performance won Arsenal the games? Patrick VIEIRA. Now he's gone i think we stand a chance. However, Henry will be a danger man again, but had Bramble been fit i think he could take him out of the game again like last season. Ljungberg's pace up against a half fit Coco, certainly a big test for the new boy. Our central midfield was weak last season with poor players like Butt and Jenas and at times Faye. Parker and Emre seem to have a fantastic understanding of each other. I just hope that Souness plays Dyer on the right wing and not upfront. I feel he's more useful there. Also from past Arsenal Newcastle games Sol Campbell has taken Shearer out of the game, well there's no Campbell now and i think Shearer can give the unexperienced Philipe Senderos a run for his money. |

What on earth are you talking about? You've seemingly just copied and pasted something from last season or the season before? You are spouting rubbish? We've played Newcastle twice already this season and no more times I am sure? Get with the times, you little spammer. |
