The transition from analog to the digital world means we can take pictures until our shutter finger blisters over without worries about cost.

The upside is that while you were once limited to 24 pictures per roll of film, now you can now fit thousands of images onto one reusable memory card; the downside is figuring out how to manage all those pixels once they're on your computer.

So what's the best way to organize your digital photos? For me, and without doubt, I thought Google's Picasa is the best option, I'm using it to manage my 59GB photo collection and its pretty fast and snappy. It may not be the most powerful in terms of editing, but it easily takes care of the simple things, and is an incredible organizer - I especially like the tagging/filter features. If I want to edit anything, I just open it up in Photoshop or Gimp.

I kind a like Adobe Lightroom, it's not that heavy on the system has a lot of features (including editing) and it works just fine. Though I must mention it's been a while since I've used it (the public beta).

It seemed that most people managed and organize their digital photographs in one of the following manner. Of course, there are users who go for Adobe Elements, Aperture, and ACDSee etc. You guys here may want to place a vote on which one are you using now.

a. Folder Structure
b. Flickr
c. Picasa
d. iPhoto
e. Adobe Lightroom
f. Others, please specify

ACDSee is annoying and slow.

I heard some people using Adobe Bridge (which comes with Photoshop, or as part of the Creative Suite). I don't think it's necessarily tailored to be used for photography specifically but I know it does an amazing job for organization for media files in general.
