As all we know the new-age browser that support ACID 2 and new CSS feature will be released soon.
So I just set up a poll to see which browser you are preferring and why
Well a little smallnote here
-opera is not here as their new version doesn't have too much new feature; safari is for the same reason
-maxthon, flock, webkits are extended from other browser, so they are not quailified
Enjoy _________________ Sleepless Cat‧The one looking for her path... |

Well, I think it would be important to note that both of these browsers are still in beta, and some functionality in both are still not working properly (such as phishing filter in Firefox 3)...
That being said, I won't be voting since I haven't actually tried Firefox 3 since beta 2, and I have yet to bother with IE8. _________________ Come visit Shattered Abstracts! (Photoblog!) |

The "Do you want to remember this password" bar is annoying, except for that firefox 3 is doing fine at the moment. _________________

I voted for ie8. I'm currently not an Ie user, i cant stand it, and i only use firefox, have for years.
firefox just isnt as promising as they once were. IE seems to finally be trying to innovate and make the best browser and i personally tested some of the betas and went away liking IE more.
I could still end up only using firefox since i have for years, or maybe even safari if they fix the bold problem, or even Opera if they support third party apps in 9.5, but right now my eyes are on IE and its nice so far. _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

I've heard that Firefox is going to be really good, but I usually don't bother with downloading programs (especially ones as trivial as Web Browsers) until final release.
I guess I'll wait and see |

Don't worry about Firefox 3 being beta. To give an idea of how stable it is, hardy (Ubuntu's April 2008 version) has it as the default browser and while this is obviously not very representative, I have been running it for over a month with 2 or 3 hangs, all of which were from hibernate resumes and Firefox probably just needed some time. I believe the much reduced memory usage has helped here.
Also, all of my extensions worked (some not perfectly but close enough) with Firefox 3 by disabling compatibility checking. If you're interested, go to about:config and add a new boolean key named "extensions.checkCompatibility" without the quotes with the value "false".
IE8 hasn't really improved much if you ask me... sure, it passes Acid2 but that is only good as it means better standards support by a larger percentage of users. And the other good thing is it pushes those still using IE6, especially in organisations, to upgrade. Again, nothing really good from an IE8 user point of view though. |
