Hello guys, I know is my first post here but I used to own a site here but I no longer have an interest in them so i stopped coming over. Hence I forget my old account and have to create a new one.
I know you guys are all experts in xml/html etc and I am certainly not.
Anyhow, I agreed to help my friend with a problem. She has her notes typed up and saved in Microsoft Word 2007, .docx format. She couldn't open it after she saved it because it keep giving her this error.
| Code: |
The Office Open XML file Acid and Base Notes.docx cannot be opened because their are problems with its contents.
Details
Unspecified error
Location: /word/document.xml, Line: 2, Column: 276856
|
I looked up this error online and found this.. site
Which says that I need to rename the docx file to zip file and open up document.xml to fix the error, which the author of the page says is a missing bracket.
Problem is.. I have no xml knowledge what so ever. I tried a couple of xml editors and have no idea what I am looking for. I am so lost.
Could someone please please help me fix this file? I am totally clueless on how to do it. I don't want go to her and tell her that I can't fix it. She would be so disappointed.
I have the file here
http://p3t3rl1.googlepages.com.....Notes.docx
and here is the xml file I extracted..
http://p3t3rl1.googlepages.com/document.xml
If anyone can help me with this, I would really really really appreciated. I don't know what I have but if you want anything, give me a holler and I will see what I can do. Thanks guys. |

Seems noone is going to answer. I had a look at the file and could not find anything obviously wrong. Also, as someone who things OOXML is a joke, I am not interested in finding out the answer either.
Try posting in a more active forum where someone may have run into this issue and have a solution.
Have you tried opening the file in a different editor, such as a web based editor or OpenOffice with the extension for .*x files?
Also, there is seldom a need for the new file formats. Even when there is, I recommend saving both an Office 97-2003 compatible version along with the new format, but that can be tiresome. |
