For some reason the lifelesspeople forum will not let me create a large post again. It's not actually large post, but it has alot of info

everytime i try to submit the topic in Firefox i get

Quote:
Method Not Implemented

POST to /forum/posting.php not supported.

and in IE i get:
Quote:

The website is unable to display the webpage
HTTP 501/HTTP 505

but it allows me to create tiny posts like this.

anyone else having a similar problem?

Yeah, I had that problem a while ago, but I never mentioned anything at the time.

There is some info on the status codes (including 501 and 505)

http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rf.....sec10.html

Does the post have anything other than normal text (such as code).

The application firewall sitting on front of the forums hosted on the L2P service will catch anything that looks like an attack and will reject it.

Hosting providers are plagued with websites full of insecure or outdated scripts which cause the servers to be compromised. We use the application firewall and several plugins to deal with this problem with a very high degree of success.

mod_security can provide security, but if it gets to the point of limiting every single thing, it becomes useless in the end.

It's like you don't cross the road just because there's risk of being knocked down by a car.

Sometimes security is good, but over-doing it just makes the whole thing pointless.

I hope you get my point Trel.

The HTTP error codes are appropriate for the type of error generated. There are many different error codes though so it was necessary to list a few in that thread title.

The support ticket with the information requested (see announcement for more details) will be necessary so I can debug any further problems.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Http_status_codes might also help people figure out certain errors a bit Smile
