Does anyone here listen to Country music?

I actually don't like it much. There are songs here and there that I like, but overall its mostly boring to me.

but i have a problem. One of my favorite artists ever, is a country Artist. It's weird with me disliking alot of country music, but he's so different than the other country artists. He's Garth Brooks, ha. I listen to rap, and then some punk metal, and then Garth brooks. It's kinda funny, but odd.

I always thought that Country Music was an american thing, but I watch garth brooks videos and he has concerts in the UK, and Ireland and everywhere, and people that goto them seem to be really into it. So it can't just be an American thing.

Do they listen to country music where you live? aNd if so? Where do you live?

One of the things that stands out to me with Country music is that almost all the songs have a sort of story to tell. Which is very unique to most of the commercial crap out today.

so?

I live in south Alabama, USA: country music is probably one of the most popular genres around here, though I don't care for it much myself. Still, I like some a lot of bluegrass / folk music, and it shares some similar roots with country.

I live in Michigan and we have a mix of pretty much all kinds of music with country included as well. I used to listen to it a lot, but lately I really haven't found myself tuning into the country stations like I once did. That being said I do agree with you about Garth Brooks. He really is one of the best performers out there and I have always enjoyed his works as a musical artist. He's very talented and has offered a lot to the genre of country music for sure.

There is only one good country song: The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Other than that, country music is pretty much the most worthless genre of music, I think.

I've lived in Tennessee and Georgia, and no one I've met there really like country all that much. I have met a few people in Tennessee that like country, but not really enough to consider it a significant amount considering how many people I know. I lived in Nashville, the supposed country music capital of the world, too. I think country is one of the least liked genres of music.

Where I used to live there was 1 rock radio station and about 7 or 8 country radio stations Silly I would say that country is popular there. That was central Washington (just east of the Cascades).

I personally don't like it that much though. And rock is also a very American genre too Silly

Yeah, I listen to country music from time to time.

I used to buy CD's before, but since I can't get the original ones, they sounded terrible. And now, I get that it is really cool using the Yahoo Music LAUNCHcast to listen to the music online.

Just a little problem that it is hard for me to follow the song lyric as the singer sing so fast. But it is possible to get all the lyrics from the internet, it is still very cool to learn English by listening. Smile
