Saw this movie last night with my girlfriend. It's definitely a very sweet movie that could work as a date movie, but it also has a lot of love for the extended family like a movie like Rocket Gibraltar or Avalon. If it's still playing at Thanksgiving I'm going to suggest that my whole family go see it.

I have seen the previews for it but was not sure if I would wind up seeing it or not. I like Steve Carrell and think he's a pretty funny guy but it looked certainly more like a drama type film as opposed to the other films that he has been in. Still between him and Dane Cook it does look like it would be a decent film and after your review it might be worth checking out. Thanks for the head's up on it.

I loved the movie. I could see my brother and I fitting the roles of Dane and Steve. Silly It was very enjoyable and without a doubt, worth the money. Plus, I was suprised how well they pulled it off without use of true adult content. It really fit the PG-13 rating, and didn't feel like it lost anything by staying in that range. Without a doubt, it was worth seeing, and after seeing 30 Days of Night two days before, it was a good mix up.

Like I said in my post, it's really more of a family comedy than a romantic comedy persay. I think it's funny to hear somebody say that it could be them and their brother, because I thought that too about some of my friends with little brothers like Dane Cook's character who look up to them in the same way he looked up to Steve Carell. They nailed that dynamic.

Agreed. And I think that is one of the reasons why this movie appealed so much to me. Because I know that without a doubt I could fit myself into the role of Dane Cook, and I can fit my brother into Steve Carell's role, and from that, the relations and what they went through just really hits home. If I can't relate somehow, it almost isn't worth seeing, but when I can, it just makes it that much more amazing.

I finally saw this movie and I do have to agree that it really was more of a family comedy for sure. I was not sure I would see it as I mentioned in a previous post even though it seemed like it would be an ok film, but I happened to be going to the movies with a friend who wanted to see it. All in all it really was more of a family comedy than anything as you mentioned. It was very relatable in terms of the characters and I think that Dane Cook and Steve Carell really resembled really nailed their characters and while I wasn't all that fond of their love interest in the film, I have to admit that it was really a good movie. I was pleasantly surprised and could see a bit of my family in all of that as well. It was better than I expected for sure.

Man, hearing all these reviews makes me still want to see this one! I had been wanting to check it out and never got around to it during the holidays. I will definitely be renting it when it comes out on DVD.
