well it looks like panasonic has some mainstream competition with there fully rugged laptops. dell recently released the latitude xfr. i have an old toughbook and the thing is extremely heavy but you can basically blowup the thing and it will still run. i would like to see how much abuse those ssd can take
anyways heres the link to the products page

What exactly are the screens on them made of? A normal lcd/tft screen has that soft plastic like stuff (not sure exactly what it is), but its very easy to scratch or even possibly dent at times. I would assume that these heavy duty ones would have a much harder screen that might not even be soft plastic.

Does anyone know?

The type of people that'd even need a laptop like this would be the military and construction yards, and both can get very dirty and nasty very easily.

To me, this looks like a throwback to laptops like 6-8 years ago. When they were all still fairly large and bulky. I mean, it's not a bad thing, it just seems like they took a design from 6 years ago, changed the materials and slapped in some spiffy new features and material components. This probably isn't the case however Silly.
