I was wondering if anyone here blogs or keeps a web journal? and if so is it purely professional? As in you actually write about technology or whatever your blog is about and give reviews and opinions, etc.

Or do you have some sort of personal blog that is public to all where is you write about your personal life and experience? similar to a diary or journal, but its online for all to see?

I want to be inspired to do a blog/webjournal thing again, but with mine i used to write about personal life, and i always get uninspired in doing this. I don' tknow why, its just weird to write stuff for all to so, but at the same time it's kinda cool to be that open. I dunno really.

I always find myself putting the blog/webjournal online and then taking it back off when it weirds me out. I like having a place to write about random things.

Which do you do? professional blog? Or personal one?
Maybe you can inspire me to keep mine up.

I know alot of people on them social networking sites do the personal blog thing though on there. Maybe that's different.

Also do you ever read other people's personal journals online? Sometimes i do just because its sometimes interesting to see what people do in their lives and how they feel think, etc. It's a little interesting, but in a way also creepy.
This is also fun when it's someone famous. i dunno why though.

I've got a blog of sorts for my website. Rarely are there any personal things, there's only one active post about my personal life. All the rest is in regards to my programming.

As for reading other people's blogs, I rarely do that too. Only if it's someone I know and I come accross a link to their blog. I don't actively check people's blogs.

I still keep mine... it's one of the longer-standing ones around L2P. Very Happy Although it is becoming rather problematic that I am falling behind on writing regularly, due to the return of school.

I, once in a great while, read the blogs of others I run across on the Internet, and regularly check the blogs/journals of those on my link list. For me, it's just interesting to see what someone else has to say, especially from a personal, unprofessional, and realistic point of view.

Yes I do. I started bloggin in November 2007. I write about news, sports, internet, music. I did some interviews and I usually give information and opinions. I use Wordpress with some plugins and a template I designed based in Big Ble. You can visit it here: http://martin.com.uy It's in spanish Silly I blog because I want to learn and practice writing. It's fantastic to share things that can be useful for some people. Comments and people you meet is great also.

I keep a "blog."

Its certainly not a professional blog, but its not really a personal one either. I do touch upon events that happen in my life, but I try and keep it as impersonal as possible (aside from letting everyone know my opinion).

The main reason for making my site was so I could write more regularly. I am an engineering major here at college, so while I can poop out calculus all day I sometimes have trouble with my English composition. I try and write very clearly and effectively, user proper grammar, etc. on my website so that it will help me in general. (For example, when I am applying for scholarships and such).

I have a blog (see the link below).

I update it only a few times a week usually. I simply don't have the need (or time) to do it on a daily basis.

I read somewhere that daily updates are bad anyway. Ideally I would update my site once a week but right now I am only getting time to update twice a month...

It depends on what your blog is about. People really liked how The Smash Bros. Dojo was updated every day (and still is being updated daily until the US release of Brawl). So, if you're really popular, consider updating daily.

Daily updates are not bad -- it's not keeping your daily updating routine consistent that's bad. One way to good blogging is to be predictable and have a consistent schedule, even if it means blogging only once every two weeks. If people know your schedule, they'll be more likely to go to your blog (not that blogging is a race for visitors, mind you).

Personally, I blog on and off, so I don't have any consistent schedule, but that's okay since I don't really care for that sort of thing. I have my usual readers, and some I know rather well, and that's all I aim for. After all, it's more personal than it is opinionated on a certain genre.

Yes, I do keep a blog and its not totally professional, it covers stuff like technology, personal interests, and other stuff that I experienced and I thought it might be beneficial to share with the rest online. Of course, I include opinions and views of my own to keep the blog interesting to read on. I tend to be forgetful, so keeping a blog penning down important junctures of my life would be good to read back sometime later. Besides those personal stuff, I like to write on new discovery, an idea, some new software, and inventions etc. As am a father, I do write some parenting tips and experience too.

I actively write to my blog. It's more personal than professional, but even so, it's not really about me so much as my beliefs. It's really a commentary blog, I suppose.

I don't have a hit counter or anything for my blog, so I have no clue if anyone is even reading it. One person has commented in some, so I know at least he's read it. Silly

Is there any free hit counters I could place on my blog? I havent had time to check yet.
