The ending of a domain is called TLD. It usually represents a country or a domain. Such as .uk for united kingdom, .us for united states etc. or .tv for television, fm for radio stations, .mobi for mobiles etc. I'd suggest you to read the rules, the FAQ and the knowledge base of LLP. They can build a base in you from where you can start. Be patient else you won't go anywhere. As far as I know LLP doesn't give .com.ru domains anymore. You can have a subdomain though from L2P. _________________ [img:1125b12b7f]http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/2860/evsimplesm9.jpg[/img:1125b12b7f] |

There are a lot of TLDs for domain names, or domains for short.
.com, .net, .org, are top-level domain, approved by ICANN.org.
.com.sg, .com.my, .com.au are also top-level domains, but they are country top-level domains.
.sg, .my, .au are second-level domains, also goes by country.
So a company located in Singapore would normally use .com.sg or even .sg, to specify that they condcut their business there.
But not all .com.<country TLD> are top-level domains. It depends. .com.ru is a third-level domain, while .ru is still a second-level domain.
But I would recommend getting a .com or a .net domain, since:
- They are cheaper than country-related domains like .com.sg or .sg
- They have the most priority, people would just type a URL then end it with .com or .net.
- They make your website look more professional.
- They are easy to remember.
There are a lot of registrars (people who register domain names), and top-level domains approved by ICANN are going cheap nowadays. Some offer .com/.net domains at less than $10 each year (no I didn't type it wrong, it's a year, not a month, not a week, not a day, but a year).
So there's no reason not to get a domain for yourself, unless you are just experimenting with your hosting. _________________
