Hi,

I have made two Facebook APIs and I would like to know what you think of them... that is, if you have a FB account.

One is for Soccer Betting (virtual money, not real money) with leagues from all around the world. The second one is called Popularity, and you get a facebook-popularity rating and you can send gifts or pranks to your friends.

Of course, I would like it very much if you invite all your friends to join.

Please let me know what you think of them.

I may be kind of biased reviewing this type of thing because I mainly believe the downfall of Facebook is user applications. Why did everybody switch from Myspace to Facebook in the first place? Everybody hated the spam of bots and bands filling up their friend requests. People also hated the tacky user-customizable pages. So how is your request page filling with countless applications and adding 300 new applications to your page to totally change the look of it any better than Myspace? That aside... i'll look at these things on a different level.

First off is the Soccer Betting application. I can give a little credit to this one because there is that idea of uniqueness and fanism going on here. In terms of graphics there is a little confusion for me. Brick walls? To me, soccer isn't about brick walls. I know you already used the grass in your imagery, but why not use the bleechers/seats in there somehow?

Secondly comes Popularity, which has been done numerous times on facebook. And the option to send "free" gifts just weakens the message of usefulness of the application even more. In terms of graphics, it needs a lot of work in my opinion. The colors, the fonts, the graphics are all very tacky and belong in a time closer to 1998 rather than 2008. I'm sure we are a bit more sophisticated nowadays in terms of visual imagery. In comarison, your soccer betting imagery far surpases your effort on this one.
