Flourescent is coming back? Oh mann... I have noticed though that certain styles from the 80s and 90s are being brought back.

I think polka dots, stripes, spandex, etc are all starting to be worn again...

I'm almost half expecting shoulder pads to be popular again, haha.

How about them mullets? I have seen a bunch of younger kids wearing them. I think "Poor kids, they don't even know what is going on. If my parents did that to me..."

I am most gratified that people find this topic of interest. Certainly fads affect us all and I am yet to find one that has been of any use or benefit to people at all. There are, of course, more fads that I hate than the ones that I've thus far enumerated and with the beginning of a new month, and the deduction of PBPP having taken place, I has continue with my exposition of strange fads for the elucidation and the benefit of the masses as far as they congregate on Lifeless People.

Tattoos

From my perspective tattooing is self mutilation. It is painful and dangerous. People can and have contracted all sorts diseases and infections from having a tattoo done ranging from contracting blood poison from the inks to dangerous infections and blood born diseases such as Hepatitis and HIV. Many people develop allergic reactions to the inks which can lead to very serious complications. Some people have even died from complications resulting from getting a tattoo.

Of course, the very most serious thing against tattoos is that they are, quite frankly, ugly. The human form as wrought by nature is pure art and Nature herself the perfect artist. It is a holy and sacred thing. It just turns my stomach to see someone who would otherwise be an attractive person destroy his natural beauty in that way. Tattoos are a desecration and a sacrilege and truly a sin against the beauty of nature.

Oh, I have more. Stay tuned.

Ok, I guess everybody agrees that tattoos aren't cool. Good for you.

Commie Chique

This one makes me want to throw up all over those miscreants who wear them. Seeing someone wearing a t-shirt with a picture of the communist murderer Che Guevara on it makes my blood boil. I see many people wearing communist symbols and think nothing of the literally billions of people who have been killed by communists since Karl Marx coined the term in the 1840's. People are killed by communists every single day of the year and people think it's 'kool' to wear the symbols of their atrocity.

Like most ideologies that people seem to fixate upon, communism is a stupid system that simply doesn't work. Despite all the proven evidence that communism in any form has been a miserable failure where ever it has been imposed we still see people out there blindly proposing it even to this day. When you point to the failed Soviet Union, they say that they weren't true to the Stalinist-Leninist ideology so were doomed to fail. When you point to China abandoning communism in favour of captialism (while keeping all the trappings of communism) as proof of communism's failure they say that China was never a communist country and Mao was never a communist. Self delusion, thy name is Communist.

Like all things that owe their existence to 18th century Liberalism (like democracy, human rights, equality and capitalism), communism is a great evil that must be stamped out and their leaders hunted down like wild dogs and destroyed. Almost everything that came out of the period laughingly known as the Enlightenment, which should be more properly called the Delusionment, has shown to be irrational, illogical and false. It is mis-applied science and Communism is just one of those many things.

Are you suggesting that democracy, human rights, equality, and capitalism is a great evil? What system would you propose is better than democracy and capitalism? I myself would be up for a dictatorship... as long as I could be the dictator Very Happy

times of war dictatorships/monarchies tend to work better then other forms of governments. in a theory communism would essentially be the best form of government but in reality it does not work.

I am suggesting no such thing. I am stating it outright.

I haven't seen it yet. A non-racist kind of National Socialism comes close. Remove the racist aspects of it and it just might be the perfect system. Even with it's racism intact, it's the only system that actually did work before they decided to engage in the madness called World War II.

Any system can work, according to its own theory. The problem with theories is when they hit hard against reality. Any system based on Liberal ideals like freedom and equality, as in democracy and communism, run into the reality that people aren't really equal or free. The more freedoms you give people the less free everybody as whole becomes and the more equality rights you create among peoples the less true rights everybody will have. Because people really are neither equal nor free any system based on those ideals cannot help but fail.
