Well, it hasn't really got stale yet, given that a large chunk of the community believe that FF12 was the best one yet.

I'd comment, but I haven't played it Sad

That's pretty much par for the course for Squaresoft, isn't it?

If you want a Final Fantasy with a lot of females, go for Final Fantasy Tactics. You have one male (Ramza, the main character), because you have to use him, and then the rest of your party can be filled with generic soldiers or storyline characters. The best parties, I find, are composed entirely of female generic soldiers. You just can't beat that dance ability.

13 is going to rock... provided you can wait for it to come in another eight or so years. Razz

As far as Tactics is concerned, it's governed by females alright. I mean, for about three-fourths of the game the main character looks like a girl (a pretty hot one, might I add... and I'm not even gay).

The best party consists of Ramza, Beowulf, Reis, Orlandu, Mustadio, and Agrias, which isn't necessarily female-dominated. However, the most powerful character in the game (that you can have) is Reis, who is female. Razz

I disagree. I could dominate that party any day with Ramza and four generic females. The generic characters (except for Ramza) are so much more powerful than the storyline characters because they can get so many more job points. I'd probably have two dancers, reducing your attack and/or speed, then everyone else can run out and dominate. Also, they'd all have Chakra and the Monk revive skill (was it called Revive?) so, we're pretty much invincible.

People that think the storyline characters are powerful, just don't know how to properly train generic characters.

Quote:
The Final Fantasy series started with a simple menu-driven, turn-based battle system, but later included more real-time and semi-real-time elements as the series progressed.[5] The series went into complete real-time in Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XII.[7][8] Most games in the series utilize an experience level system for character advancement. The experience points are normally accumulated in battle. Battles also use a point-based system for casting magical spells. Since Final Fantasy III, most games in the series feature a variety of "special commands", such as the ability to steal items from enemies, or performing a leap attack. Often these special attacks are integrated into the job system, which has appeared in several games in the series and spin-offs.

The first three games all featured a traditional, turn-based battle system. At the beginning of each combat round, the player chooses all of the battle commands. These commands would then be carried out, but in an order from the fastest to slowest characters. The turn-based battle systems were later replaced by the Active Time Battle starting with Final Fantasy IV, which was, in turn, replaced by the Conditional Turn-Based (CTB) system in Final Fantasy X, and then finally by Real Time Battle systems starting with Final Fantasy XI. At E3 of 2006, Square Enix presented a short demo of Final Fantasy XIII, in which the battles had a battle menu for inputting commands at the bottom of the screen but was not well-noticed because the battles themselves appeared to be completely cinematic in nature.

And those who think properly trained generic characters are more powerful didn't know how to exploit the power of storyline characters. Wink

Why do you think almost every game guide and hardcore FFT fan will tell you that a variation of the party above will dominate? Only players who have an unorthodox play style or want to be different use generic characters.
