Hopefully FFXIII will be better than FFXII, because I was terribly disappointed in FFXII. The battle system just wasn't as good as I expected and in my opinion the original turn-based system is way better.

I don't get how you have to command the battles they show in the trailer, it looks very innovative and really cool, hopefully it will be more fun than the FFXII system.

The XII system wasn't to bad in my opinion, but it took a bit of getting used to.
The XIII system looks interesting through, but i still prefer turn based systems

Who knows, FFXIII may be a turn-based again, just shown very cool Very Happy

I have my doubts that they'll use turn-based combat again any time soon. Maybe after XIII, but it seems to me that Square-Enix is trying to get an innovative battle system for every new FF that they'll release

FFXIII is going to be killer. Not only because Squaresoft (or whatever they want to call themselves these days) has the potential to make it a killer game, but because both they and Sony know that a mediocre FXIII would be terribly detrimental to the PS3 on the whole. It's just one of those titles.

So far FFXIII, along with Versus, looks to be amazing, to put it shortly. I have high expectations and suspect that they will, in the end, be exceeded. The only Final Fantasy title to disappoint me to some degree (excluding the MMO one, which is somewhat separate) of the ones I've played has been FFXII. Didn't grab me at all and I could hardly get a couple hours into it before returning it to my cousin who lent it to me.
