|

Does anyone else here have a similar problem? Firefox seems to have been doing this to me alot in the past few months. Something that i never used to experience.
It seems that firefox randomly for no reason at all deletes all my form info. this includes passwords, and other things. Such as when i go to a site that i'm supposed to already be logged into because of a cookie.. I am no longer logged in to it, and firefox does not remember my user id and password as it should.
There is no event that leads up to this, its random. And it happens so often that it's really making me what to quit using firefox.
the only thing that has saved me is roboform. I have disabled firefox from remembering my passwords and such, but the cookies still should work, which they happen to continue to randomly stop working as they have. But with roboform i can just login very easily.
is anyone else having similar problems with firefox? I don't think its a extension or anything that I have because i removed all of them and the problem continues to happen. I have firefox on the default setting so it should not delete my info to protect me or anything like that, it's a bug or something.
also i have reformatted my hard drive several times and it has yet to fix this problem so im assuming its with the latest versions of firefox.
Anyone else have to deal with this? And do you know of a way to resolve it? _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

It happened randomly to me yesterday, but other than that I've had no regular occurrences. It always happens after a Firefox update (understandably). When it clears my cookies, that doesn't bother me too much - but when I open up Firefox sometimes and see that my bookmarks and settings have been cleared, that really annoys me. Thankfully that hasn't happened in a while. _________________ I Love Rebecca More Than Anything In The World <3

Is there other software on your computer that may be clearing application data every once in a while? Think anti-spyware or other security software.
I never had the problem myself. Not that I noticed, I mean. I use Opera most of the time now anyway.. _________________ Captain Jell-O Buster from the Future

that used to happen to me alot. Not that often but enough for it to become a problem and I had to remember to always back up my bookmarks.
The problems I'm having isnt after any updates unless they update firefox without me knowing every week.

Nope, i don't have any security or privacy software that does anything like that. The only thing i have is webroot's spysweeper and I just installed it, and it was happening before then.

Maybe one of your settings are causing you lose session data? |
I can't find anything there that would periodically delete my info. I have never edited this settings either way, so they should be on the default.
I know firefox come with the built in clear private data settings, but they aren't enabled, and it only seems to be my identities and such.
I'm a little sick of firefox having these random bugs though. None are as severe as the bookmark problem though (when they are magically gone). That has happen to me several times so i can relate. I probably have created topics here about it.
I wish Opera supported toolbars and roboform. If it did i'd use it
Might just have to go back to using Ie, which will be weird since I havent ever actually used besides a couple times years ago. Suppose it'll be something new _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

It's never been a huge problem for me. By far the site that I'm most often logged out of are these forums. A couple of other sites I go to don't allow you to have cookies, but the saved data generally stays there.
However, Lifeless People is the only place where I should stay logged in, I am for most of the time, but am sometimes logged out for no reason. This, however, has been happening for years, it's definitely not something new.
Haven't really found a solution though. |

Please note that cookies do expire, and sometimes it's related to the cookie, not the browser.
If you keep getting logged out, clear your cookies, then retry.
Sometimes it may be the site logging you out. There's no guarantee that the site will keep you logged in just because you tick the option to do so. I encountered a site which logs me out even when the option to log me in automatically is checked, for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. _________________ Jacky

| Anyway, its good, safe and more secure to clear private data. You should maintain this habit, as you are vulnerable to password leaks if you were to keep data kept in the cache. |

It's not actually cleared, most of the time simply a new profile is created cause the old one corrupted. You can get the bookmarks in the folder where it stores the profiles. On windows it's in Application Data or Local Settings. On linux it's in the folder where you told it to be _________________

i know that is the case with some sites, but when this happens it's not one site. it's all of them in firefox overall. And unlike a normal cookie log out, you can easily click on the username input form and it'll have your saved logins in the drop down box and you can select it and it'll automatically insert your saved password, etc, however when this bug happens even that info is usually gone also.
I suggest to everyone who uses firefox to use this backup program. I've been using it for a few months now and it works perfectly. Saves your complete firefox profile including themes, settings, and extensions.
When i back up i use the complete profile mode, and it doesnt take long at all.
It's called FEBE.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109
and again, unlike other firefox back up programs, this one back up and restores identical copies, so you wont notice the difference, and nothing is lost, nothing you need to reset up or redo or anything. It's all there and i love it. _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |
