My mums just started to use firefox since her IE has become unusable (uses 500+mb of RAM with 1 tab open, slows down and freezes the whole PC)
On IE and ebay she could sign in on one account, open a new IE window and sign in on another account, so 2 accounts logged in at the same time, both working independently of each other
On firefox this doesn't seem possible. If she signs in on another window the both of them end up using the same ID
Is there a way round this? _________________ Midnight Tempest - A Sailor Moon TCG

I think this is possible by starting Firefox using a different profile. Firefox has user profiles built in, although they are not commonly used. I bet you can find out how to open the profile selection window (I'm going to eat now, so I can't look it up for you). _________________ If you can read this, my post is on an alternating background. |

You could always suggest using a second browser such as Opera. I'm not sure about this one but just using an IE tab within firefox might be able to be a quick fix in this case. _________________ http://mydorksite.com |

Here's how to use profiles in Firefox. If it doesn't complain about multiple instances of Firefox running, you should be set.
If it doesn't work, you're forced to use a second browser like mcwkm mentioned (or there might be a chance a Firefox plugin is available that addresses this specific issue).
Edit: I did a quick search and I am pretty sure my solution is not going to work since Firefox does not allow multiple instances at any time. There are workarounds, though, but I don't recommend doing that unless it's your only option. _________________ If you can read this, my post is on an alternating background. |

When it comes to multiple logins on Firefox, you should ask me.
I have done quite some research on this, and they are ways to do it.
The most popular extension to do that is CookiePie. You can enable it and the second login stores the cookie on a separate cookie file, allowing you to do two logins with one instance of Firefox.
However I do notice that CookiePie has some flaws after all. If CookiePie doesn't work out for you you can try another extension (I'm sure there's another one, I can't remember the name).
If not you can also try multiple instances of Firefox.
Copy the Firefox shortcut to your Desktop, then edit its Properties.
Place the following in the Target field:
| Code: | | "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p "Jacky" -no-remote |
"Jacky" is the profile name. Enter your desired profile name there.
Save this shortcut separate from your original Firefox shortcut. This shortcut uses the "-no-remote" switch which allows you to open multiple instances.
Run the shortcut.
If that profile doesn't exist, Firefox will popup the profile selector which you can create a new profile. _________________
