I recently made a total switch to Mozilla Firefox. Yay! I've grown to like it better than Internet Explorer, the main reason being that it's much faster. Now I can use Facebook all the time instead of most of the time. So, my only problem with it at the moment is that when I'm on Youtube, it automatically starts playing videos when I open up a new page. It's very annoying. I was wondering if there's a way to stop this?

I've done a tiny bit of research and I managed to find something known as "Tubestop," but I see that there are problems with it. Maybe I haven't found the latest version of it? This one I found is from 2007. Some of the problems people reported in the reviews include it not enabling HQ mode, and things such as that. One person said that it would only allow you to play videos in 4:3 aspect ratio. Certainly not good.

So, does anyone know of something that will simply stop the videos from playing automatically?

As far as I know YouTube videos also autoplay when I'm on Internet Explorer.

It's weird. I read this and I began to wonder if they played automatically when I used Internet Explorer, so I checked. I guess they actually do! It's weird, because I don't remember them doing it before. I'm pretty sure that they at least wouldn't play automatically on channel pages where a video was featured, but now it seems that they do. Maybe my memory just went down the drain as soon as I downloaded Firefox..? I remember getting Firefox and then opening up my Youtube channel in a separate tab, then wondering why I was hearing music. My featured video was playing.

Some channels have autoplay, some channels don't.
