You can check out the new captcha installed here at L2P by logging out and clicking register. Please don't complete the registrations if you already have accounts, but take a look if you're having spam robot trouble.
The modification for phpBB is available at the website http://recaptcha.net/ _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |

Ohh thats pretty. I hope its works better then the last. I always have to reenter the code multiple times on phpbb forums.
I wonder if this will help the forum grow (gain more members) since they might not have to reenter the code so many times.
Does it provide more protection against bots? If so, i really would like it for some of my forums
Nice addition Trel Always getting the best.

it's very elegant. I like it, simple design with bold colours, and the captcha itself is very easy to read. _________________ For Metal and Rock interviews and reviews, go to www.heavymetalnation.com - You can Contribute too if you want!

Although the CAPTCHA image is changed on phpBB 3 Olympus, I still prefer this.
It looks more nicer. _________________ 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286208998628034825342

I saw something about this before, it helps the computer reads books so its in text on the computer. It's a pretty neat idea, which solves two things with a common task, and it also looks better. _________________ Tutorial Management Script - Version 1.4 Released

When phpBB3 is implemented here I'd like to see the recaptcha.net implementation used instead of the default available in the new software. The accessibility of having both audio and visual is very nice. _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |

I don't think so, but it serves a great goal. Your input is used to digitalize scanned books, by making humans fix errors the OCR made.
It is explained in detail at: http://recaptcha.net/learnmore.html _________________ My new site

Very pretty, I like it. I also haven't realized that l2p even had a captcha. _________________ Tarakana NET |

Actually I believe their implementation is more secure against robots than your garden variety captcha, but as with most things it won't be 100% effective. _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |

I'm not sure how good that CAPTCHA actually is... I was reading the learn more page and it said that only one of the words has to be correct, because the correct answer for the other word is actually unknown. So I gave it a try and got 15 out of 15 correct in a row where I purposely got one of the words completely wrong. So it seems like a robot wouldn't be at that much of a disadvantage because it just needs to get one of the words correct, which is typically the word that is clearer and easier to read. _________________
