Sad news today: Heath Ledger was found dead early today. It was an apparent overdose (but no signs of suicide, so let's not assume that).

He was known for his roles in such movies as 10 Things I hate about you, The Patriot, Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain. More recently, he was the Joker for the upcoming Batman sequel: The Dark Knight. Filming for the movie was completed a while ago, so the movie will most likely still be released later this year.

April 4, 1979 - January 22, 2008, rest in peace Heath.

I heard this today on the news when i was at a pizza place eating pizza. It was a shock because i thought everything was going well for him. he had a bright future, very sad to see.

he also looked like he did a good job as playing Joker in the upcoming batman movie.

I was rather sad when I found out too, I always knew that if he was in a movie it was bound to be something I'd like. It really is a tragedy when someone goes before their time. There are so few actors that I'm truly a fan of and he was one of the handful I'd eagerly go to the cinema to see.

I was really surprised to hear that he died. He was so young to come to such a tragic ending. I feel for his family as I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through right now. I will admit I was never really a big fan of any of his works, but he was a pretty talented actor when it got down to it. It's sad to see that his life came to such a shocking and surprising ending. It really is an unfortunate situation.

Could this be another case of a conspiracy to commit murder? Its not like he had a bad lifestyle, young and talented with millions in the bank.. doesn't really seem like the kind of story where death is due .

My uncle died in November, that was sad.

He looks so great in the Joker costume... It is so weird for someone to commit suicide at the peak of his career... I heard rumors that he really got into character for the new batman movie, and got into depression because the role was kind of psycho...

rumours are exactly that, rumours!

i heard it had something to do with the fact he'd split with his ex and couldn't cope without his daughter....

has it actually been confirmed that he overdosed, and that it was done on purpose?

I have a theory that it might be accidental. I read a article that said the role of the Joker really got into his head and he began having a difficult time sleeping. Even when he took just one sleeping pill and fell asleep, he'd wake up with his mind still racing. It's possible then he kept upping the dosage in search of some peace until it was too much.

Well it wasn't suicide or murder, it was accidental. It really puts things in perspective. You wouldn't expect someone like him to drop dead one weak. it just goes to show that your life could end at any time, and you can't do anything about it.
