Soccer AM Forum is down again, the Admin has limited net access at the moment so I am unable to raise the support ticket etc. Could someone please have a look as soon as possible, thankyou.

The error message is as follows.

Code:
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query config information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1142 SELECT command denied to user 'socceram'@'ferrari.dreamhost.com' for table 'phpbb_config'

SELECT * FROM phpbb_config

blighty, it might help if you tell Graeme or whoever has access to the control panel to reinstate all necessary privileges for user "socceram", e.g. through phpMyAdmin depending on access level or through the MySQL database manager found in the control panel home. Perhaps delete the user "socceram" and recreate it.

E-mail away Mel, I have attempted to get in touch with P.J but have had no reply.

Quite frankly the whole thing is a bloody joke, if the site is dead then a notice should be posted here!!

I have had e-mails from several site members asking what the problem is, all I can tell them is that, as usual, no-one has let us know what the hell is happening.

My head is 'done in' as well.

P.S :- Thanks to krt for trying to help. Liverpool fans are nice guys. Fact.

Thought the site would be back by now. But then if it's something Graeme or PJ have to do to rectify the problem, then we can't blame this place.
However it is a monthly occurrence now that the site goes down for a week or two every month. yet we still have to get the required number of points to keep 'the site alive!'
And when the site is running it runs painfully slow and has plenty of timeouts. Infact I can guarantee the site will be running slow every time I log in.
The move to the new servers which took over two weeks a few months ago has done little to solve this problem, if anything it's worse.

I look forward to the site returning in due course, however I know it won't be up for long before something gives again.

wanna hug it out Jaime??

Smile

blighty - i have e-mailed pj, just waiting for a reply. Assuming graeme hasn't been in touch with llp, otherwise he would have given us updates of progress here - wouldn't he?

unless his internet has been down for the best part of the last week.

just suggesting all possible options. I still don't understand why its "us" who post here to fund the site when some (and i'm not just saying Graeme) don't bother. it really "rips ma knitting" Laughing

I think only Graeme and PJ can raise the support ticket for this problem. I have sent a text to Graeme in the hope that he has an internet connection, so hopefully the problem can be solved quite quickly.

Yeah, imagine the site was down for a week and it seemed nothing was happening. Glad that hasn't happened before Wink

It is obviously a database error. This has nothing got to do with LifelessPeople.

LifelessPeople is the host. You can install phpBB and MOD it whatever ways you want. If phpBB fails to connect to the database LifelessPeople cannot take responsibility for it.

And yours is only a database problem. My problem has been delayed for 2 months. You should be glad that Trel replies to all SoccerAM queries.

i wasn't blaming llp for it, can't speak for anyone else. my gripe is with the fact we are mere mods and seem to be kept in the dark by admin on the site with regards to what is happening re getting it back up and running. The members e-mail us asking questions, and we can't answer them because soccer am admin haven't answered us. This forum is our last means of communication with them if all else fails.

Exactly as Mel said. Except I don't log on to MSN these days, so no one asks me questions about the site Very Happy
I did say earlier that I couldn't blame LLP for this latest downtime if it's something SAM.net admin have to sort out. So I don't blame them at all. However the site slowness and frequent other timeouts are LLP's responsibility. The move to a new server hasn't solved these problems, just made them worse.
Come on Socceram admin, sort it out. I know PJ has already said on SAM.net that he wouldn't be around much this month. But Graeme is the site owner and he is on less then PJ!

I definitely understand your feeling. You want to do something, but something prevents you.

Because this is exactly what is happening to me.

I open a support ticket about the issue (which delayed till now since August), and I got a reply from Trel.

I thought the bad days are gonna be over soon and I can start work on my site, but then, I never expected that it would be the last and only reply from him. Whatever reply I made, it stays there for weeks and months.

Finally, a month is over. The support ticket is closed for being opened too long. I open another support ticket, and I guess it's becoming a cycle...

I've only just got internet access yesterday so I was basically unaware about this.

Can someone please PM me with some details about what is going on? Is this something wrong on our side or LLP's?

Please can someone contact me ASAP. In the meantime I'm going to try and get in contact with Graeme, maybe he can shed some light on this.
