I made a banner for someone and I've finished it, but I still think it needs some improving, I just can't quite put my finger on it:

To me I would put pointless instead of truthless, cause I don't see what the picture has to do with truth. Now, put some kind of eyes under the dark bench and then maybe it will click. Cause people can connect eyes to truth. Silly Maybe.

Haha, "truthless" is just the name of the website the banner is for, nothing to do with the image.

Eyes? What kind of eyes? Human eyes or cartoon?

I think the top right part and the bottom right are a bit too empty, but not sure on what would be best to put there.

Hmm, maybe it's not a question of adding something to it but modifying a minor detail like placement, border size or colouring?

Nice effect. I envy those legs. I agree it's lacking something, but I'm clueless as to what.

O_o There were no effects on this banner, just different coloured layers set on different modes and opacitys along with curves.

Should I just leave it like that since what it's lacking is so mind boggling?

Isn't that an effect in itself? Or maybe, I need a redefinition of the word effect. Silly

Nu-uh, it's not an effect. An effect is when you use filters or specific colour change or something. Layers is just adding stuff ontop.

But I guess if you wanted to call it an effect, it wouldn't be a crime. ^_^
