Keep your site up to date. Make sure the content is interesting and get backlinks from other sites (this will happen more quickly if you have interesting content). Google will find your site eventually, just be patient.

I think as long as you keep your site up to date and it's something that people are looking for, once you submit your site to a google search engine for free, I think it should get more traffic to your site. The key is to make sure that whatever your site is about that your content is interesting and something that when someone puts in a search that it is something that people will want to go to right away. I know spiders will go onto the site and do their jobs, but as long as it is unique and content of interest, the visitors will arrive to the site. Just be patient because it will come.

You can also submit a site to Google and other search engines. I dont know if its quicker but i submitted mine and it only took a couple of weeks to get it on there, did the same with yahoo. MSN took a while since i couldn't find an option to do that

I don't know for sure, but I know my newest website, AreaMJ.com, unless Scar submitted it, I didn't, and I'm up there pretty nice like. Then again, I did signup for a service so I could get over like 600 backlinks. But who knows. Silly

as long as your site is updated regularly it should be featured on google automatically. Although if you'd like i'm pretty sure you can add your site to the random-search site stumbleupon.com, and place under a category (i.e. comedy, fiction, living, etc), where people might stumble upon it, and later become interested in it.

Original poster's banned but just FYI, updating regularly just makes the Google bot crawl your site more often, the first indexing is usually made possible by a link from elsewhere which is already indexed.

Your site will be found by Google with no special effort, as soon as you have some links to it. Put it in your forum signatures, ask some friends to link you and within a week or so your site will be indexed. Actually submitting in the submit form is less effective.

If you want your entire site to be crawled, be sure to make all your links with HTML rather than JavaScript. JavaScript links might not get scanned.
