Where did this Knowledge Base come from and where do we access it from? (Other than the link above of course) I've been looking for a link to it but I never found it, and I also noticed that the New Visitor Information forum is gone, so I was a bit perplexed...
Oh, nevermind, I just found it...it's right there at the top...maybe for new members there should be an explanation of this? (There may be one, but I haven't seen it yet...). |

Just by singing up you got a free account. Now all you have to do is earn some points and click on the hosting link up at the top and select the package.
http://www.lifelesspeople.com/forum/hosting.php
i am unsure about each particular plan and what you need but if you found the info then you already see it.
You'll love the hosting here. Its better than any hosting i've ever had, Paid or free. I've been here for a year now and still loving it. I think you will also.
Sorry about the other people saying "use the search feature" alot of people on forums say that when you ask for help. Obviously you already used that feature and could not find it. I know many times on these forums i try to search and i cant find anything. Don't let them being distant like that make you not want to be here. Just post on the forum and earn some points and withing a day or so you can request a hosting plan from the hosting link i posted earlier. Then you'll be able to log into the cpanel or ftp to set up your site. If you already own a domain name i suggest that you change the DNS servers on them to: ns1.lifelesspeople.com and ns2.lifelesspeople.com. so by the time you get your hosting account set up, your domain will already be pointing to the servers here.
Feel free to pm me to ask for anything. I'll try to help you as much as i can. I know how it is to be new and try to get help but people tell you the same thing. "use the search"
good luck and i know you'll enjoy it here. _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

It's not that I want to say, but as you can see, there are already lots of questions answered in previous topics. Not using the Search feature leads to spamming.
No offence, just my opinion. _________________ Jacky

Thanks for all your help. I have been on the FAQ and Knowledge base but the FAQ section is all about the forum which is important but not what I was looking for.
Search engines and I just don't mix, whatever I happen to put in has no links what so ever to what comes back out. I tried searching for hosting information but all I got were forum rules!
I tried the new knowledge database it had some of the things I wanted to know but it didn't mention how much webspace, badwidth and other features were provided by each package and how I could get a subdomain name.
Anyway thanks for all your help particularly from The Grinch and Jacky. _________________ [img:78323b42a3]http://sscm.moved.in/CODES/100x35press.jpg[/img:78323b42a3]SSCM - Ugly Betty Fansite

it's really unwelcoming to say "USE THE SEARCH" i am not offended by it and i doubt anyone else it. Just isn't very nice. I mean you get points for posting and such so just explain it for them. Helps you both out. I want to make a more positive environment around here. I been here for a year now and i remember when i first joined i was totally alone and felt unwelcomed. Only nice person at the time was Trel. I've gotten used to it now and stay to myself really but at the same time i want to help newer people have a better experience here. Makes it better for all of us. _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

This topic is to answering the question "How to get Free hosting?"; but now it leads to "search function" discussion.
I don't want to make off-topic post, but I admit that sometimes answering "Use search function" make the new comers a bit confused. You know, if the questions are answered from time to time, and a new comers asks it again, why don't you show him the links to the needed information instead of saying "Use search function". I mean, it'd be better if you do the search for the new comers. I think it doesn't take much time, as you're familar with LifelessPeople.
In fact, I'm with The Grinch in this topic. _________________ Love you, my little comet |

I think the best thing to do is give the info they need and at the bottom suggest that they use the search button. Not just posting use the search.
Because on the search unless you get the keywords right you most likely wont get what your looking for, and if you do, there would be tons of posts to look through _________________ Midnight Tempest - A Sailor Moon TCG
