|
|
i have no idea of how to improve at playing a FPS game called soldier of fortune 2, i have the keys set up well, i have a few stratagies on the main war maps, but i always seemed to get owned, and get ratios of 20/40, i do have the odd game where i can get positive ratios, but this is very few and almost never accomplish this in wars, PLEASE HELP! _________________ Peace out, JamezK

first of all:
know your maps
map knowledge is key to winning (know where you can camp/snipe enemy players) and where you can escape to when under fire + all shortcuts
then ofcourse key bindings
do not use arrow keys to move but use the
qzsd buttons (for azerty) to move,
a for jumping and e for crawling
always use strafing to go round corners, never stay in a position for a long time and try to hide behind stuff as much as possible
know your weapons + improve your aim and reflexes by playing alot
also... from time to time look behind you for enemies
aim is best improved by coop'ing with a friend and trying to kill him while he tries to dodge as much as possible
never played SOF2 but these rules are standard for every FPS game out there
do note i'm not a pro in fps either
but i usually do end up with a positive kill ratio _________________ ***under construction**

How the hell do you do that? qzsd?
I've never played this Soldier of Fortune 2, but being a pretty weathered veteran of other FPS's such as Halo and Call of Duty, I have some tips that help me a lot. Grenades and jumping are your best friends. Never leave yourself out in the open, especially if you know there's a sniper or a group of people out to get you. Always make use of your motion tracker if you have one, and when you know a guy is just around the bend, wait for him to come to you before you release your barrage of bullets.
Again, these have helped me, but aren't guaranteed for you. Most players develop their own strategies for success...keep playing and find yours. _________________ One worries so much about tomorrow, that he does not cherish what he has today. |

q = to the left
z = forward
s = backwards
d = to the right
only beginning players play with the arrow keys
for following reason: arrow keys = to far away from all other keys to be of any real use
+jumping (standard being spacebar normally) is always important and with normal arrow keys you have a hell of a time to jump, move forward and aim + fire with your mouse at the same time (need both hands to jump + move)
also switch weapons with the number buttons not with mouse scroll wheel (reasons = takes less time)
if you have a 5+button move like me you can always use 2 buttons to crawl and jump on your mouse instead of keyboarding that (is easyer)
unless you use the arrow keys on your numpad (being 4826 and use 7 to jump and 9 to crawl)
btw on qwerty keyboards the qzsd will be different ofcourse _________________ ***under construction**

well , the qzsd on an azerty keyboard match the awsd keys on a qwerty keyboard Elven seems to forget that most countries don't use azerty keyboards, but Belgium does . _________________ .// Proud to be Lifeless for more then 4 years \\. |

Oh, okay. That makes sense. I got really confused because I can't possibly see a person using qzsd on a qwerty keyboard. _________________ One worries so much about tomorrow, that he does not cherish what he has today. |

Constantly jump, especially in games like unreal.
Use highest resolution you can use, turn of annoying visual effects, make sure you have over 30fps constantly to ensure that you do not miss things cause of lag.
Know your maps, play a lot. And actually go on servers filled with cheaters without a cheat. You'll push yourself to catch up with those cheaters, what leads to your reaction speed increasing seriously. _________________

well i know the main war maps to a certain degree, i know where are the packs , spawn places etc.
i use qwerty G15 Keyboard, and i know my bindings, but i have most of my weapon/nade binds on my G5 (my baby), and i have the sound on 100% and music on 0 so i can hear if the other team is coming round the corner ( enter shotty ), so i normally throw a nade the other side, or bounce it off a wall and try n get them with that, but when that fails its up to me and my M590 (shotty) and i have around 250Fps so i move quicker than most people in the game, and as for staying in one position for 2 long, i kinda camp out more, to try and get posi ratios, but lol it doesnt work so i might try attacking instead of defending, and my reactions/aim arnt that bad, i managed to 360 headshot someone the other week _________________ Peace out, JamezK

that's pretty good
sof 2 is pretty old now i think so... it's likely that the main player base will be pro's
so no real shame in getting your *** whooped
and 250fps is just sweet _________________ ***under construction**

Be prescient. That's my only advice. Of course, that's because I, too, suck at multiplayer FPS games. If only I knew what my opponents were going to do before they did it... _________________ "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." --Thomas Jefferson

Well actually that's something you'll learn after a while.
If you keep playing on the same server on the same time of day you'll start to know who does what when. And when that happens you can get a lot of kills. How do you think you can "own" those pro's in UT. They always do the same thing, learn to counter it and you have them in the corner. _________________

What is the purpose of jumping in Unreal Tournament? Is it just harder to hit or something?
I play America's Army on occasion and many servers have little notices that say "DO NOT JUMP WHEN YOU ARE SHOT AT!" Why do they have this rule? Its not like you jump that high or become harder to hit or anything (but the cool thing is when I hit them with a higher powered rifle when they are midair they really fly ) _________________ Rashy! |
