It is supposed to be a comdey/humor site. Just looking for some feedback on the template, content, idea of the site, or whatever else.

Normally on the front page there would be some more articles before it drops down to "more" and the list, but I didn't have enough real articles. So I did it this way just so you could see that part.

Known Issues:
-Change :hover color in the "More" section
-Color scheme Syndication buttons
-Left align Poll options

Under Debate:
-Replace the Search (in the navigation) with an archive of news items
-Change font color of Newsflash
-Adding a rating / comment system

Viewing with Firefox 2.0

+ I think you should change the font of the newsflash section. That was the first thing I noticed quickly. The gray color does not match with the green background. At least with my monitor. Also, you may want to change the font size of the text to match with the font size of the text of the blue "Popular" box next to it.

+ The hover color of the "More..." section should match the color of the "More..." text above it. Right now it looks a little out of line.

+ Don't see anything on the website that shouts out to me "This is a comedy website". In other words, people may come to your website confused as to what it is. I see links on the right, but non of them tell me anything about the possible content of your website.

+ In the main content area, for the first news post, there is too much spacing between the the header and the "Written by" text.
Additionally, for the second two news posts, there is too much spacing between the date of the post and the main text (content) of the post. The first news post looks fine in that respect.

+ The gray border of the username and password input fields don't fit. Either get rid of the border, or change it to a more distinct color.

+ What's with the pole only having the same two options?! Anyway, spacing there is screwed up...

There you have it. Site looks pretty good. It's hard to tell it's mambo (then again, I haven't had much experience with mambo sites -- actually none).

Wow. It is such a handsome website. Cleanly laid out from top to bottom. Excellent color scheme. What can I say? I absolutely love the design.


But if you want a few criticisms, ok here you go.

-As version2 noted, there is nothing that screams out, "this is a comedy", anywhere, unless you read the stories listed but that's not the point. The point is that there should be something that makes it apparent to a user when they first load up your site.

-Next, don't agree with the blue background in the login text fields. I feel they should be white, to kind of pull the column and content areas together a bit, figuratively, of course. Maybe do a little drop shadow or gradient type white fill for them. After all, the radio buttons and check boxes are white.

-The green in the newsflash box is, or at least seems dark enough to merit a white font within it. Plus it'd match the popular box next to it.

+Did I tell how how much I like this design?

-Be nice if you could add a hover effect to the links in the popular box. Makes the links seem alive or at least something to click on.

-Why are the title boxes on the column different colors? There doesn't seem to be any noticeable pattern or reason really. Just curious I suppose.

-Finally, see if you can't make it so that a different image appears for each menu item on the left when the new page loads up. You can't tell the page has changed other than the fact that the nice big image changes. You can't tell you've actually switched pages unless the picture changes or you scroll down and read the text, thus noticing that it is indeed different.

Thank you so much for your criticism, this is the type of stuff that I wouldn't have noticed

-The "More" header and link hover will be changed to the same color.

-I'm not exactly sure how I will make it scream out at you that it is a comedy site. Something for me to think about.

-Hopefully the spacing will be easy to fix. I don't remember setting any value to it.

-You are right, that gray border looks like crap. Vipralion: Yeah, white would be a good color, or maybe the gray I used on the content section (persistent through all form backgrounds).

-The two poll options being the same was supposed to be a (bad) attempt at humor. I will look into fixing the spacing.

-I will match the Newsflash with the Popular box (that was starting to bother me too )

-I can make hovers for the Popular and Recent boxes.

-When you log-on the title boxes alternate perfectly between green and blue because a new box pops up for a user-only menu (that contains links to submit content, change their information, and more).

-I can't think of any way to make a different image for each section/menu item off the top of my head. I could make it so the NewsFlash/Latest is below the content. Do you think that would work better? You could see the change in the text from page to page that way. This reminds me a lot of good-tutorials. I kept searching and searching but couldn't figure out why results weren't coming up. Turns out you have to scroll down

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. Another question... are the articles humurous at all to you? Would you be interested in coming back for updates? Or am I pursuing the wrong path and should I switch my site focus to something else?

(Oh, and I wish I could claim credit for the template, but it was made by somebody else. If it is any redemption, I have been modifying it quite a bit.)

Well done Rashy!! The colors are easy on eyes and the site load pretty fast It looks really professional, I especially like the fact that colours are not very bright

the only critique I can find is that the search box in the top is a bit difficult to see. Maybe they could use bolding, or maybe a brighter colour than the dark blue.
Other than that the site works very well
