Well? How do you like web design yes?
All of them are ones that I've created in the past two weeks when suddenly I found that I had created an index.html and style.css file. From there I couldn't help but type in html tags and css definitions.
Now, what do you think? Mr. L2P? What say you? Need more polish? Need to sand and then polish?
Now before I let your feedback fly Mr. L2P, let me first make a few notes:
-The background on Wideload does not seem to position itself too well in Firefox. Any suggested fixes for this problem would be very much appreciated. Actually, you probably might not see it at all. It shows up in IE though.
-King Arthur was being created while I was watching the movie, "King Arthur", starring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley. Does that explain all the jibber there? Yup.
And Go! _________________ [img:bd4240ba2d]http://gethalo3gear.com/signature/images/halo_signature_1.jpg[/img:bd4240ba2d] |

I think the first one, Wideload, is a little hard on the eyes. The background and font colours are too similar. I would suggest either making the background a lighter orange, or making it darker then using white font.
Frigid looks very sleek. The way that the links in the top right corner get highlighted when you roll over them is nicely done. But on people with higher resolution screens (I'm on 1280X768), the whole box is just stuck in the top middle, with around 4 cm of blank grey space at the bottom. It still looks nice, but it might be better if you positioned the box in the centre.
Lithium light is a nice design, and sits nicely on my widescreen (Wideload does too). It looks slightly monotonic, though, so it would be nice if you added a shade or two of another colour subtly, perhaps on the subtitle bars. Lithium dark doesn't look quite as good in my opinion. I don't think the Arial font and size you use fits white-on-black that well.
King Arthur looks quite professional. Reminds me of community sites, you know, the ones with articles, comments, forums... I wouldn't have thought that kind of yellow could look good anywhere, but it actually fits nicely.
With all things considered all four looked very professional and sleek. I had to think hard to give ideas for improvement. Must have taken you ages to make all those templates... takes me something like a month just to do one
By the way, I viewed them all in Opera 9, and there weren't any browser problems. They get thumbs up from Opera users. _________________ I'm objective - I object to everything. |

Ha ha! That's great! I haven't tested on Opera so it's nice to see that they all display well.
I love the comments. Great things you had to say.
I had the same thoughts on the yellow color but it turned out nice. Didn't it? _________________ [img:bd4240ba2d]http://gethalo3gear.com/signature/images/halo_signature_1.jpg[/img:bd4240ba2d] |

I hope we get to see the final designs... what do you plan on using them for? And by the way, it's good to see that there are still people out there who believe websites don't need a truckload of fancy graphics and a flash intro thrown in to look cool... _________________ I'm objective - I object to everything. |

Validation is an important part. All 4 of the layouts are invalid in one way or another. They are very nice though.
This is a very validation concerned community. _________________

Yeapers... I haven't gotten around to validating them yet.
I'm usually not connected to the internet when I get around to the point where I can validate them. I just run everything off of my personal server on my computer to see if things are nice. Especially with PHP/MySQL.
I'll get around to validating them sometime I suppose. I just have a lot of studying to do now. Poo!
Thanks for the comment about not needing to have flashy designs. Look what you can create with CSS! Yay! Anyway, oddly enough, I'm likely to create something with a lot of pretty for my next design/project/whatever. WHen that will be... I've no idea but yyou can be sure I'll post it here for feedback. I love all the feedback. It's so constructive! _________________ [img:bd4240ba2d]http://gethalo3gear.com/signature/images/halo_signature_1.jpg[/img:bd4240ba2d] |
