|
|
Alright I was trying to send out an email to someone and I type it in and hit send and I get this message:
| Quote: | An error occured while sending mail. The mail server responded: 72.138.13.186 is in a blacklist at relays.ordb.org.
http://www.ordb.org/lookup/?host=72.138.13.186. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again. |
(72.138.13.186 is my IP)
So I figure it has to do with the person I am emailing but then I go and email someone else and I get the same error message. So I go and check this site out and I read on their about page:
| Quote: | | These relays are, or are likely to be, used as conduits for sending unsolicited bulk email, also known as spam. By accessing this list, system administrators are allowed to choose to accept or deny email exchange with servers at these addresses. |
I don't spam, I hardly even send out emails! The only emails I send out are responses from my contact form on my site and I have only send like 10 responses.
So how do I end up blacklisted and what do I do to get off? _________________ Tutorial Management Script - Version 1.4 Released

This is the same problem as the one listed under "Outlook, SMTP."
I had the same thing happen to me this morning and it's still not fixed. Checking with ordb.org directly, I discovered that I was not blacklisted and neither are you (I checked).
There must be something wrong with the SMTP server software. _________________ Misanthrope: someone who realizes that humans really are as stupid as they appear.

This problem has been solved. Thanks.
To moderator: I've tried editing my previous post but it complains that I am can only change it after 60 minutes. That was 4 hours ago. _________________ Misanthrope: someone who realizes that humans really are as stupid as they appear.

There was a nasty DNS bug that caused all this.
I've setup the servers to do the lookups locally to prevent this from happening again. _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |
