It's not as if I care if you read and reply to my posts... I'm all about interaction of thoughts. It's just that I wonder why you would bother telling me you're "blocking me"... and then not act as if I was blocked.

Apparently you then did something which does nothing at all... for you blocked me, yet are still reading (and hanging hehehe) on every word I say.

I just find it funny when folks say they're done and then they're not. Usually it's to get out of having to discuss certain points which show your points to be moot. As you have done. Wink

Honestly, do you think I would really block someone?

I don't know you from a pile of dung in China, so I have no idea. I simply go by what you say, as I have nothing more to go on. You said you were blocking me, then you continued to read what I had to say, and to be bothered by it.

Seems to me you're a tad confused.

(Well, I did block you, but it doesn't make it wrong for me to reply to your posts.)

Nope, just made your blocking redundant, as I've made no attempt to contact you personally and shall not. As it stands now, I reply and you reply... your blocking is worthless.

Really? Why? I thought you said I wasn't about your definition of intelligent discussion? You've basically told me to eff off, and that every thought I share is worthless to you... so tell me, why the change of heart?

[quote
I guess atheism and nihilism could be considered belief systems. I would personally consider these two to be philosophical positions, because they don't really believe in a supernatural being.

Glad you can drag yourself into agreeing, despite that it shows your previous views to be short sighted. Wink

But then you say you personally think they're only "philosophical positions"... hello, mcfly? What is religion? Yes, I know, to you, YOUR religion is this grand thing that is better than everything else and transcends everything else... but what about other religions? Are you saying they have more validity than a philosophical point? Be careful, if you do... then you might have a wee problem with how you define the "correctness" of your religion.

It's funny, to me, how you are trying to take a term you didn't understand when I presented it to you, and redefine it. A belief system, as I described to you, is a system of belief... whether with a deity or without one. Remember, you didn't even know what I meant when I said it, and asked for clarification. So now that I've explained it is exactly what the terming says (aka a system of belief, NOT having to do with whether or not you worship anything) you now try to say that things such as athiesm and nihilism are NOT "a belief system". Odd, since you couldn't grasp the term moments ago... and you'll note that when I explained to you what it was, it had nothing to do with having a deity or not.

So now it seems you're trying to pretend that "a belief system" can only mean things with deitys. Which means you're now interpreting "belief system" as meaning religion... since worshipping a deity is what is required for religion (as we ran over standard definitions).

So if "you, personally" would not identify nihilism and athiesm as "belief systems"... then what are they, to you? And why do you now try to make the definition of "belief system" mirror that of religion?

Again, note that you only said they wouldn't fit because of the fact that they have no diety... and yet, if you look at my definition, you'll find me saying that a "belief system" does NOT have to have a deity, and that, in fact, is exactly WHY it was not the same as religion.

Which you finally agreed with... yet here you are now... trying to say they're the same thing.

Yeah, you know that thing about intelligent discussion? I'm still waiting for some...

Quote:

You could call atheism and nihilism belief systems.

My, look at how you hide in vaguery to not have to admit you simply didn't understand a very simply concept...

Quote:

Hey, just because I added you to my ignore list doesn't mean I can't reply to your posts, does it? Silly

Again, as far as I'm concerned, you can do whatever you like... as you only show yourself in the negative when you do so (in my opinion).

But think about it... what's the point of ignoring me if I don't PM you and you always respond to my posts? And apparently you always see them too... So it seems to me you went to the trouble of blocking me and announcing you're blocking me...

...all for nothing. Wink

Hehehe, well look who is deciding to ignore me for reals this time, even though he's already stating he's reading the posts...

I guess that means Neil is just out of answers and going to hide and hope people forget until there is some other point he disagrees on, when he'll come back and go into hiding when is in the same situations again.

This is a fun game! =)

You know, if I died tonight, I'd probably go to hell. I admit I haven't led a perfect life, but some day I hope to repent for everything, and maybe wait in line at the Pearly Gates.

man... if you die you will not have "another day", or "repent for everything", if you die and befor that you had a bad life, with a lots of depts, and you didnt accept Jesus to save you, and to wash your depts, you'll not have another day when God will let you to come in front of Him and to beg forgivenes... so if you intent to live your life like a deptor... go on, but when you will die you will go in hell, and no comment...

I will go to heaven, however, if you answer, hell, don't know, or don't care, you have some very serious problems. First, if you answered hell, that does not seem like some place that you would want to go and would readily accept your fate. If you answered don't know, you should definitely think about it, as it is a very good questions that have immense consequences for you. Lastly if you answered don't care, then you don't really care about dying and that's kind of sadistic and sad.

I am not really quite sure where I will go. I would like to believe that I have lived my life in such a way that I would go to heaven if there is in fact a heaven. I know in some religions that there is a belief in reincarnation which was also another heavy belief out there. I am not sure whether I believe in that or not, but I do think that there is a distinct possibility of it happening. If that was the case, then I would hope that I could be born again into a life that reflected the way that I tried to be in this life. I would hope that when that times comes, that somehow there would be something wonderful out there. While it terrifies me, I still have faith in my own way of what comes next.

Well not all of us get to the morgue after they die, but all will be judged by God.

We can not live our life in a way to earn a ticket to heaven. You can only belive in Jesus and accept his salvation this is the ONLY way to heaven.

Well, I guess if I died, I would go to the morgue. Then I suppose there would be a wake and a funeral and what not, so against my will I would be in a church at some point. Afterwards, I'll be dropped inside a whole in the ground, Generally about six feet deep. I'll stay there until I decompose and all that fun stuff. Maybe in the distant future I'll be dug up and my bones will be studied, so people had an idea of what we were like at this point in time.

Perhaps I should start getting word out now, that I'd just like to be cremated .. no ceremony. Burn me and throw away the ashes.

So ... You think it will be over when you are dead. I sopouse you belive that we have only this body, and we do not have a soul. What about thouse testemonies that people died and see the people around and their own body and then come back to life to tell?
