Well I am sure that it can cost eternally.

When I die, I hope it all just ends. It's not that I hate my life (quite the contrary, actually). I simply find the idea of an afterlife distasteful. Why would I want to live forever, when I'll hopefully get a full 80 years in this life?

Do you have a specific religion, because I don't know where your viewpoint is coming from?

My body will rot in the ground, and my consciousness will cease to exist. To believe any different is absurd. I am not scared of death, nor do I fool myself with comforts such as reincarnation nor heaven. I shall rot, and the rats and maggots shall feast on my corpse. They are the true gods. A rat will eat it's babies to survive. That is a real survivor, and what i concider to be an animal that is well adapted to life on this planet.

I am a muslim, we believe that if u have made sins u will be punished on this world or the other one. If u do not believe in God u will burn in hell forever, but if u do believe that there is one good and that Mohammed is his Prophet, but u do not practice Islam (pray, do good deed, feast during Ramadan) u will stay until God decides its time to move to heaven (where will u stay forever). So depending on number and severity of sins, your punishment is decided ...

I've been told so many times that I'm going to hell that I've stopped listening.

I am a christian, but don't believe hell is endless, rather, I believe that all will eventually be saved and I know there are a few others on this board that share the same view.

Revelation of John 14 wrote:
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Well I belive it would not be the end when you die. It will be the begining of eternity. And you can sped the eternity with God or separeted from God wich you can call spiritual death; see the text above.

Isaiah 64:4 wrote:
But we are all as an unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Trow our facts we cannot go to heaven. Jesus is the only way.

We live in a time ehen people do not endure the truth, but they give themselfs teaching what they like. The Bible is telling us about this.

2 Timothy 4 wrote:
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Well, the "Smoke" is ascending for ever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night (possibly until they die?)

I could give you the original greek of that passage to prove that it isn't forever, but it's pretty late where I am so I'll try and get back to it ASAP.

See for yourself in the greek version.
