|
|
I just bought an 8GB iPhone today and everything's been going great with it, with one exception. I can sync music, videos, contacts, calendar, email, and podcasts perfectly fine, but when I try to sync photos, the sync process never ends. It doesn't show a progress meter or even transfer any photos. iTunes just says "Syncing iPhone" and never stops. If I uncheck the box to sync photos, the sync process goes fine.
What could possibly be causing this? I can't find any useful information through a Google search, so hopefully someone here will have an idea.

1) Is it jailbroken/hacked?
2) Which build of the phone firmware (1.1.3 or similar) are you using?
3) Which iTunes version are you using?
4) Are you using Windows or OS X to sync with it? _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |

Oops, that probably would have been important info to add. It's not jailbroken, it has the latest version of the Apple firmware, I'm using iTunes 7.6, and I'm on Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I should note that I used the ZiPhone jailbreak method but then restored the phone in iTunes shortly after. _________________ "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." --Thomas Jefferson

All right, it got even stranger. The problem kept occurring if I had selected "Selected Folders" in the Photos sync page in iTunes and it was viewing my entire Pictures folder. However, if I changed the folder that iTunes was to look in for pictures to the folder with the pictures I wanted and selected "All photos", it synced perfectly fine.
No clue what was going on there, but I have some photos on my iPhone (though I don't think I can select more than one folder), so I'm happy for now. _________________ "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." --Thomas Jefferson

I don't sync photos, but you might try to update to iTunes 7.6.1 and the 1.1.4 firmware for the iPhone. The 1.1.3 firmware was buggy in some cases (SMS message order for one thing). _________________ * Knowledge Base * Wiki * Forum FAQs * |
