Yea, it stopped working. I think I might know what caused it, but I can't think of how to fix it. Yesterday I was using my computer and had a bunch of stuff open, including Windows Media Player and the Last.fm scrobbler. I was getting pretty upset about stuff, one of the issues being the yard work I had to go out and do. I decided to simply turn the switch off on the power strip that everything here is plugged into. Yes, I know it's a bad idea to do that, but i didn't care then. So, today I noticed that I was using Windows Media Player, but the Last.fm scrobbler wasn't open, so I just opened it up and figured I'd be fine then. Then I noticed that it still wasn't working. It simply says "Hello Mr_Pooter' and the rest of the stuff it normally says when you have it open but you're not playing music. I tried restarting that and Windows Media player, but it just wont scrobble! Any ideas on how to get it working again? I thought about reinstalling it, but that's just a pain in the butt.

By the way, I made sure scrobbling is enabled and I also tried using the radio (and it works, but that changes nothing).

are you using the official last.fm scrobbler, or a third party one like isproggler (which allows ipod scrobbling when you store your music on an external hard drive)?

I find that the sproggler will have times when it just is not talking to the last.fm host for a while (like a day), but it stores all the tracks and submits them in one go later on when it can get a handshake.

Another thing i find sometimes is if i start itunes beofre the isproggler is initiated, I can't seem to get the sproggler to pick up the songs, but if I restart and ensure the sproggler is initiated before starting itunes, all of the songs get submitted.

I never even knew there was such a thing as iSproggler. So, the answer to your question is no.

Alright, I tried reinstalling it, and that didn't help. I checked to make sure the plugin was installed and everything, so i don't know what the problem could be. What now?

Well, it's been a bit too long so I can't edit my last post. Anyway, I found out what the problem was. It was a problem with Windows Media Player, not last.fm. I went into Options, plug-ins, the "background" category, and there was a checkbox for the last.fm plugin. It was unchecked. I guess when I cut off the power to my computer, some of my settings weren't saved, so that went back to the deafault, which was unchecked.

Problem solved.

Glad you figured out your problem. When I looked at the topic name I thought maybe you were having issues with server connection, as that's probably a much more common problem (or at least used to be) than this...

During the transition between AudioScrobbler and Last.fm, there were soo many problems with server timeouts it was driving me mad.
