I've looked around in the Knowledge Base, but didn't have much luck finding the relevant information.

I want to get my email from the L2P servers vai a POP client (like ThunderBird, or MacMail). Problem is, I don't know how to connect to my accounts. Sad

Does anyone know how to do this?

The info you gave me was spot on, thanks Desbrina.

In addition to that, does anyone know what the L2P servers SMTP settings are? Thanks to the above info, I can connect and retrieve my mail, but I can't send any.. Sad

Quote:
mail.DOMAIN_NAME.net:USERNAME@DOMAIN_NAME.net

My mail client used that, followed by a query for the account password, then worked fine..

A bit confusing, but it worked.

And Trel, if you're reading this, I hereby request that mail useage on L2P be more thoruoghly documented. Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the help guys, much apriciated.

SMTP: Same as above.

Laughing Thanks Trel, clarification is good.

Anywho, documentation would still be good. Less than sharp people like myself could use it.. Rolling Eyes

Yes, it isn't complicated at all.

When I first set up POP for my email from my hosting, I just entered mail.countrynfs.com (my site address) for both the incoming and outgoing server name, and it works. Very Happy

By the way I recommend Mozilla Thunderbird for your mail client. It's a really simple-to-use program like Firefox. Very Happy

Well...to use SMTP I had to choose IMAP instead of POP when I create an acount correct?

Well, if so...in the Server settings (IMAP or wtv, not SMTP) I put :
Server name : mail.altf4pros.l2p.net
User name : admin@altf4pros.l2p.net (just like you said)

and then for SMTP :
Server name : altf4pros.l2p.net
Username and password : admin@altf4pros.l2p.net

You told me to use my e-mail as User name so... (but it didnt actually work Sad) Sorry for the bother. Really, I hate not understanding like this. I usually pick it up fast (or figure it out myself, just like I did with Gmail).

You have to create the email address in Manage Accounts under E-Mail in cPanel before you can use it.

You can use POP or IMAP with SMTP.
