Since the old topic got locked I'll create a new one.
Looking for suggestions/comments etc. about it, layout, colours, anything else
Umm, ignore the forum colours for now, I'm currently remaking the template (only the images haven't been done yet)
at the moment i change the colours every time i change the website colours but i want to have a single template that i can change every once in a while _________________ Midnight Tempest - A Sailor Moon TCG

I liked the clean design of the website but not the forum colours (I'm not sure if those are the ones that are going to stay) _________________ http://martin.com.uy

It seems a lot of stuff you are doing is very clean and white; however, looks can be decieving. Although it's looks very clean because of the white, if you look closer at the actual structure, it's very busy and very tight. It seems the hierarchy on your site is somewhat sqewed or reversed. Because your links are very nicely spaced, they have lots of room to breathe, yet the rest of everything is so tight together. I think it should actually be reversed; in fact, that's how it is on almost any site I can think of.
For example, give a little room between the text and the header image (your logo area). Give a little extra room between the updates post avatar (image) and the updates text. Also while you are at it, you can really decrease the size of the update titles, it's unnecessarily huge I find. Maybe make it a bit smaller then the word "Updates" above all of them. I think that will make it look much more balanced and cleaner. Now one final change I would make is collapse all the links (left navigation) so they are nice and snug... like I was saying before they have lots of room between each of them, maybe decrease it a little bit, but at the same time give a little extra room between the section and the first link for example: The section title "INFORMATION" and the first link "Home" are too close, give them a little room to create a more dynamic hierarchy.
Well that's my little nitpick about the overall structure. I think with some or all of my changes your site will be really cooking. Or you can just ignore my opinion . If you have trouble understanding my comment, just tell me i'll draw a concept or something. Nice work. _________________ The Gamer's Journal | Online Portfolio | Half-Life Library | UNDATA |

It's a pretty clean layout/design, but i do think it is a bit lackluster at some parts.
I reckon you can have a more graphical design, one of the tricks to getting people to keep coming back to your site is to have some kind of unique design, and as far as i can tell, your design is far from it(no offense )
I would start with the navigation, make it more interesting, like making a table for the navigation. I know you already have an invisible table there, but it is probably better to make it visible, like a 1px outline or something, that will make things less messy.
Even changing the background color to gray will enhance the overall look.
Just my 2 cents, cheers. |

If you're going for a minimalistic design, then it all should match, no exceptions. And by that I mean the icons. While nice enough by themselves, they don't match your layout. make them match.
Also, make sure all the pages match in color and design, and rethink the choice of yellow on white that is present at least in one place.
Overall, I like the idea, but it needs to be refined and de-cluttered a bit. Your little sprites are really awesome, though _________________ Tarakana NET |

Actually yes, that is quite a good idea. I guess I kind of overlooked the design portion of your site because I'm not personally that interested with the content . But if you make your site match the style of your cards, like the navigation and header, i think it would lend it self to the purpose of your site a lot better than it does now. For example when I first look at your site I have no clue what the purpose of it is. Maybe if you tie the trading card game thing more into your site it may create more visual cohesiveness. _________________ The Gamer's Journal | Online Portfolio | Half-Life Library | UNDATA |

I love the new layout along with the new system, its really unique but i notice its not really explained anywhere on the new site, and the only way to access the FAQ is by logging in. Perhaps you shouls make a lin kto the FAQ from the About and Rules Page?
I still don't like the puzzle cards, the border on them takes away from the image. Perhaps if you still have the images you should eithe rmake it so that there isn't a border, or make it so that its like the border on the Elite Cards (the border where you can still see the image underneither)
The new system makes playing a lot more fun. I know all the games don't work yet, but i enjoy it more. I like the fact you dont have to worry about saving the cards, adding them to your page then uploading the cards and the page everytime a change is made.
I would suggest with the new system through making it so that your can trade more than one card at once. I know you can do more than one trade, but when trading 4 or 5 cards with the same person, its a bit annoying going through the trade 4 or 5 times _________________ [img:783e3821db]http://www.midnighttempest.com/images/affiliate-buttons/trebor.png[/img:783e3821db] |

The puzzle cards - I have been going through trying to find the images (wish i stated the puzzles the same way as Darkness Within, that way i'd have them all) but there's one or two that i cant find (one of them is the Sera Myu puzzle Together). I want to change them to the same as Darkness Within (the transparent borders) since they work better, but i haven't decided if i'm going to number them or not, probably not as i'd still have the problem of the numbers getting in the way
New System - I'm glad you like the new system, its been a lot of work but well worth it, especially when it's all set up and working correctly
I am trying to make it so that you can trade more than one card at once, but currently i don't have much of an idea as to how _________________ Midnight Tempest - A Sailor Moon TCG

haha wow this is an interesting site.
the layout is simple and easy to use thats good. Im assuming from the original template you have changed the colors on the forum. Forum color scheme looks good no problem there. One thing that you might want to make more noticeable is the description for the website maybe. Considering there's really no header above it, I think I would have absolutely no idea this was a TCG website normally. Except for the fact that this thread says it is, and the fact that it took me awhile to realize after clicking "Card List." |

The forum is using one of the default phpbb3 skins. It was using a modified phpbb2 skin. The main page does actually say its a TCG
| Quote: | | Midnight Tempest is a TCG (Trading Card game) dedicated to Sailor Moon. It has cards featuring the Anime, Manga, PGSM and Sera Myu |
