mlb 2k8 vs mlb 08 the show

ok so i have been playing 2k baseball games since the beginning, played mvp in there for a few years too also tried the sony game before the show(not good) and the past few years(since mvp got removed), i have been getting 2k games again. anyway is the show that much better then 2k games? i plan on buying the ps2 version of one of the 2(haven't gone next gen yet) but can't decide which to buy. If only one is at the store when I go, i'll end up getting that one but if neither or both, i won't know which one to buy/order. any suggestions or prefferences
