I know i've asked this before, but I didn't ever get an answer before... or atleast I don't think I did. I'm looking for a way to have more than one domain parked at my account at LifelessPeople. As it stands right now, my main domain http://thegamersjournal.com is my parked domain, and goes to the root of my account. I also have several other domains which are forwarded (so they have to be masked so they don't have ugly URLS), this is what I want to get rid of. I don't want to have to forward all my other domains and mask the URLs. I want them to be parked in separate directories on my account. Is there any way to do this on LLP? _________________ The Gamer's Journal | Online Portfolio | Tanooki Rebirth | UNDATA |

In cPanel, under the header 'Domains', there are several domain related tasks you can perform. I believe 'Manage Addon Domains' is what you need.
I suppose you can figure it out from there. If not, just ask. _________________ Captain Jell-O Buster from the Future

You can't park your main domain. Sure, it goes to the root, but in whatever cases it's not technically considered "parking".
If you want to "assign" different URLs to different directories, use the addon domains feature. _________________ Jacky |

I get an error when trying to create an add-on domain:
| Quote: | Error from domain wrapper: .immense.lp.tl could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid IP address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure!
Error from park wrapper: The domain you have specified does not conform to domain name rules. |
I'm not sure what's going on here. immense.lp.tl was the original domain I signed on with, but i've never used it, and as far as I know it doesn't work.
Here's the three boxes and the information I put in:
New Domain Name: http://vaughnroyko.info
Username/directory/subdomain Name: vaughn
Password: xxxxxx
It's probably the second box that is getting screwed up, I just put in the directory that I want it to point to from the main directory.
*EDIT* I removed the http:// from the first box and it seems to have went through. The problem now is it registered as vaughn.immense.lp.tl, which by the way doesn't work. Maybe that's irrelevant (since it's just a subdomain?). So what now? Do I just point the domain to the lifeless DNS servers or whatnot? _________________ The Gamer's Journal | Online Portfolio | Tanooki Rebirth | UNDATA |

The way i used to do it was point the Domain to the servers first, since i usually had problems if i did it later
I then used Mange Addon Domains to add the new one in. It creates a subdomain as well as the domain. You needent worry about the subdomain
I then given it a couple of hours before the domain actually starts working _________________ Midnight Tempest - A Sailor Moon TCG

If immense.lp.tl is your main domain you cannot use it as an addon domain.
Do not enter http:// in the domain name field.
The "Username/directory/subdomain Name" field should be "<cPanel username>/public_html/<directory>". This worked for me in the past.
A subdomain will be created when you add an addon domain. You do not have to worry about that. _________________ Jacky |
