If you read documentation and put some effort in getting used to it, Foobar2000 is the best audioplayer available on windows.
However, I don't know if you liked Amarok on Linux, but the released a few alphas for windows in the past couple of months, so you could try that too.
Good luck _________________ My new site |

I just use WMP11 on Windows. Has the plugins that are most useful such as Last.fm scrobbling, inline editing and a nice taskbar mode.
No idea why people prefer foobar2000 as I spent at least half the time with the documentation and tinkering needed and it was still inferior in appearance and functionality. _________________

If you grab some skins for Foobar2000, it can look pretty good.

Unfortunately, the component that allows most skins to work,"Panels_ui", is out of date and hasn't worked for the last couple versions of Foobar2000.
I looked at installing Amarok, but it seemed to be quite a hassle to get the alphas working. Maybe in a couple releases. _________________ Rashy! |

I'm currently using iTunes. Not by choice, mind, because the program really does suck a whole lot, but I have to use it to put stuff on my iPod Touch.
I don't really have high demands for media programs, since I barely ever listen to music or watch movies on my computer, and when I do, chances are it's streaming media. So even Windows Media Player satisfies me fine for the occasional use. iTunes though does not. It's annoying and uncomfortable, and I hate having to look at it every single day. _________________ Tarakana NET |

I know about the skins. The ones I found sucked and then I gave up. _________________

i personally use iTunes just for its EQ as windows media player 10 doesn't have one
as for folder monitoring you can install a separate program called iTLU that scans a folder and its subdirectories and adds any new tracks...if you changed the track info it will also update it
it's really cool you should check it out if you want to use iTunes but also want iTunes to automatically update your songs. _________________ |
