Checkout my current (will provide link incase I change) avatar.

It is really simple, this I know. The picture is of my keyboard. Don't ask why there are black and green parts. There just are because I wanted my keyboard to look like it. The text is kinda just plopped on there, but I like it better then my last avatar. A lot less depressive, and a whole lot more my work. Silly

So what do ya think?

It's definitely better than your previous avatar, you could still play a bit with the text, it's a bit plain in my opinion.

Thre only comment i have about it is the black line at the bottom, it looks out of place. For some reason it takes the attention away from the actual avatar i think

I like it. The green spots on the keyboard add some nice flavor. But other than that, what's there to say?

And on the subject of Gimp. I can't stand it. It's too difficult to work with. Photoshop is definitely worth $600.

...Gimp isn't that hard to work with, it just needs some getting used to, although I do agree that photoshop is better.

I like it, but the text is a little plain, maybe use another font? Like almonte woodgrain or a "pixel" font. I think it would look much nicer. ^^

It looks really nice alone but for some reason looks so much better on the actual website.

I really like it and come to think of it I really need to make an avatar like that one for myself. Nice work haha.

That piece of text looks too plain. By the way, you can get a free trial, 30 days period, version of Photoshop from adobe.com. A bit weird but nice.

The text is really plain and out of place, just like the black border at the bottom. The keyboard and the rest of the avatar looks good.

It must've been a funny sight watching you try to get a good angle to take the shot of your keyboard Razz

Well, I don't really know what the inside of the avatar is - its a bit blurred. I suggest you add a border around it, and the line at the bottom I recommend you remove.

The text could have a bit more design, maybe a drop down or something? A gradient on the text with a drop-down, and such would give a better design, in my opinion.

That's all I can suggest.
