The layout is good, but I don't really like the yellow/orange colour...

I like it. The dark grey, light grey, and yellorange really do go well together.

Well, the layout looks nice, although I would recommend using something else than just gradient-fills to indicate forums with(out) new posts. It looks too simple otherwise. Maybe some faded background inside the logo would be nice as well.
