Sometime between the 15th and 17th we will finalize plans to move the entire service over to MySQL 5.0. There are currently no cPanel or backend steps standing in the way of the upgrade but, following new operational policy we are providing notification of the pending upgrade.
Notice:
We know of no major scripts that have not upgraded to support MySQL 5.0. In the last attempt we noted that ZenCart and Simple Machines Forum experienced issues. Simple Machines Forum has since released a patch. I am unaware of ZenCart's status.
MySQL 4.1.x databases will be provided for all customers that run scripts that are incompatible with the MySQL 5.0 server software. It is advisable for you to check for upgrades or patches for your applications (if needed) as MySQL 5.0 is considerably faster than previous versions of MySQL.
You are asked to put in a ticket to technical support if you find a script you run is not compatible:
