Well. Took me 2 Hours to put together, and 2 Hours to learn CSS from some really stupid book that had 100% non working example codes! Here it is:
http://sgtclan.clan.io/web/main.htm
It is not complete yet. DONT CLICK ON THE LINKS!!! Most of them will lead you to a 404: Not found error as I have not yet sat down and tried to remember all the URLs. Also, I apologize for the really crappy and slow host i am using. They REALLY SUCK!!!! Cant w8 to get my l2p hosting!
Feedback welcome!

i would suggest changing wither the black background, or the red/blue text as you can read the text very well currently

Thank you for your input. I like the idea of changing the colors, but Im not going to as of yet. Currently, I am designing it to match with the layout on my forums. I used to have it based around a Digital Desert Cammo background, and I will switch back over to that when I get my l2p hosting. Im just kinda playing around with CSS right now, and alot of my Clan Members like the Red / Black. I may try switching the Text to white...
UPDATE: All of the links work not except the "Contact Us". Still have to make that page Wink

EDIT: The page is 100% completed! All links work! I know it displays correctly with IE7 and FireFox 2.0, if you can check it in other browsers, that would be great!

Sorry man, just redid all of the stuff on my crappy hosting over at 2ip. The new link is:

http://sgtclan.clan.io/main.htm

Also, I am VERY sorry! The 2ip Web Host is REALLY SLOW! The web page loads up instantly locally, but takes about 20 sec on the 2ip host. Really sucks!

It's alright, it's not your fault they aren't awesome. Maybe soon you can use you PBPP Wink

I really like the effects on the headers got both. I do prefer the red and black color scheme though. The code is good and clean, Isn't is so much better doing it by hand?

Why did you make it so wide? I mean it's for gamers so I guess you can assume most viewers will have at least a 1024x768 res, but even then it's a little too wide. It would look a lot better if it dit flushly rather than making me scroll over that little bit.

One thing that bothers me is the font you're using for hte actual content. I know what you're shooting for, but the content is the only thing with that monospaced aliased font. It just seems out of place.

Maybe you could tone down the color scheme, bring the satration/contrast down a little for the colors you already have and use a couple of tints and shades. You could also incorperate some eye candy(yeah I say that a lot Silly). The colors are bland and the layout, while functional is standard.

I think with a little tweaking it'll be an excellent template! Smile

They really suck! When you upload HTML files to them, they actually insert this line of code into your document:
Code:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://cpsite1.2ip.com/delayer.js"></SCRIPT>
<!-- member-3 source //-->

That is not of my doing, and it really pissed me off because it is not up to standards with the W3C Strict DTD, ruining my chance of getting it validated as a strict HTML 4.01 Document!
I already applied for l2p hosting about 2 weeks ago and I am waiting to hear back on it. One can only hope....

Yep, the headers were done by me in Photoshop Wink . It is a lot more thought intensive to do it by hand, but the end result looks way better than anything you could get with Publisher or Dreamweaver!

I did assume that the majority of people viewing it would have a screen resolution with a width of 1024px, but what I forgot was that the browser window takes up about 20 - 100px of that! I have a wide screen running at a resolution of 1280 x 800. What I am now planning to do is to make the main content more narrow and to center it on the screen.

I originally used Courier New (the main body font) in the header, but I think it looks like crap when it is that large. Unfortionatly, my choice of fonts is very limited.

Great idea!

Sorry for breaking apart your post, but its just easier for me to respond to it that way. Thanks for the critique, I love your ideas! Back to the drawing board!

Dangit! Over the 60 min Edit limit...
Well, After reading up a little bit and thinking about what had to be done to make this page look nicer, I did a lot of editing! The first thing I did was make the page centered on screen. Took a lot of math! In the end, the banner is 1% to the left, 10px down, and 98% wide. The theory is that the percentages will allow the page to look the same no matter what the resolution is, with some exceptions. As long as the resolution is wider than 600px, then you can view the page. After I got all of that sorted out, I redid all of the images so that they would fit correctly on a 640 x 400 screen and still look Ok on a larger screen. I then had to fiddle around with the text to make that look all nice and pretty. Finally, I darkened up some of the text and uploaded it. I think it looks alot better:

We also have a URL that I cannot display here: http://sgtclan.kicks-***.org
