|
|
On the 6th: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games. This sports game features Sonic and Mario characters in various olympic events such as swimming, track and field, and others.
Also coming out on that date is Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. This is the newest game in the popular RPG series.
On the 13th: Super Mario Galaxy is coming out, it's the newest game in the main series (since Mario Sunshine on the GameCube). This looks amazing.
Also coming out: Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. It's a rail shooter that spans several previous games: 0, the original and 3 (as well as new areas). This looks decent, but I wish 2 would've been in the game.
On the 15th: Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is coming out. It's the sequel to the original Rabbids game. Tons of mini-game fun makes this a sequel worth getting. Fans of the original should enjoy this.
Other Wii games coming out in November, that are worth mentioning: Soul Calibur Legends, Link's Crossbow Training, Trauma Center: New Blood.
These games should keep all Wii owners busy for quite a while. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, from what I've heard, looks pretty good. I'd probably try it out, but I don't know whether I'd buy it or not.
Super Mario Galaxy definitely looks like a winner. I'm not 100% sure if I should get it, even though everyone says that it's a really good game. I'm not sure whether I'll have the motivation to play the whole way through (I haven't even finished Zelda). I guess I'm sliding towards the more "very" casual gamer - where the games are fairly simple, and easy to get into.
I'm looking forward to Guitar Hero also, but not so much Raymond Raving Rabbits. I never played the original, but I heard it wasn't great. Never been a fan of "Party party" games, more a fan of "Gaming Party" games.
Umm... yeah, when I get back home, I'm going to be buying a lot of games... |

I agree that party games aren't that fun. It's much more fun to just play a multiplayer game (like a sports or fighting game) with a group of people than a game where you play fifty different games with that group. _________________

Party games are lots of fun. A variety of things to play is usually a nice feature to have. With sports and fighting games, there is a few modes and that's it. I enjoy some sports games, but I'm not a big fighting fan though.
A baseball video game for example: it usually has a regular game, home run derby and sometimes a few other things. With a party game such as Rayman Raving Rabbids: there is more of a variety. Also, in many sports games: it's only 1 player against another. In many party games, it's more than that. Mario and Sonic is one of the few sports games I will buy, as it has a variety of things to do. It's not just one sport, and with the case of Mario sports games: there is many modes that add a lot of replay value to the game.
Anyway, as for the November releases: Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and the 2 Mario games are the ones I'll be getting right away probably.
Some more information on Mario and Sonic:
-There is 16 known characters: 8 from the Mario universe and 8 from the Sonic universe. I suppose there could be hidden characters, as 16 total seems a bit small.
-Characters are in 1 of 4 categories: speed, all-around, power and skill. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Party games start to become fun when you're slightly drunk. Than they become challenging and you can laugh at each others stupid mistakes. You should really try it that way. _________________

There are Wii owners, but it's been 4 days since your last post, and since then one game on your list has come out
Honestly, I won't be playing much Wii until I get home in February, so meh. By that time, Australia might even have half the games at are on the list... maybe. |

So many of the titles on that list sound like crappy budget titles that aren't even worth my time to find more information on. Petz: Horsez 2? My Word Coach? The Wii is becoming less and less a true gaming console and more so one of those crappy gamings thingies like the Ngage or some odd thing like that.
Why buy budget titles when you can buy 3 triple A quality games on 360? Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect. 3 genres, 3 games, 3 times the action. Woot. Two of which are also available on PlayStation 3.
Honestly, seeing that list of game releases makes me feel more and more queasy about ever having thought about wanting to buy a Wii.
Super Smash Bros Brawl was perhaps one of only a tiny amount of games that I would have loved to play but the controls are quackers and the online play is so toned down you might as be playing against CPU's or a styrofoam cup. _________________ [img:bd4240ba2d]http://gethalo3gear.com/signature/images/halo_signature_1.jpg[/img:bd4240ba2d] |

Sony and Microsoft have many children games and budget games just like Nintendo consoles do. It's not unique to just a Nintendo console, so don't act like it is. The Wii is a true gaming console, as it doesn't need DVD or CD features jammed in (like everyone else does) to help sell a few extra systems to the casual gamers. Also, the Wii is something many people can afford. Nintendo doesn't need to overprice a system and load it with a DVD player (and so on) just to appeal to the casual fans that don't know much about gaming in the first place.

Excuses, excuses. Instead of being so picky, look into other games more. This is the problem with many video game fans now: they are too picky, and expect 100's of quality titles each month. However, they simply just ignore games that arent heavily hyped (due to ignorance and/or just being too picky). Video games would be lame and dull if only the big titles existed. Many little known titles have had sequels and went onto be hits. Katamari Damacy is one example: it wasn't hyped that much (that I know of at least), and it did well. There is other examples as well I bet. If video games sticks with the same old: Mario, Zelda, Halo, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, big sports franchises (and so on)... fans would ditch gaming and find other things to do.

There is more to games than online play, so get over it. Bad controls isn't a decent reason to avoid it either. But anyway: I believe Brawl lets you use the Wii remote or GameCube controller, so I don't see what the big issue is. If you hate the motion sensor remote/nunchuck combo, use the GameCube controller. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
