I'm looking to remove a certain piece of text from data entry into a database

Although the below code works
Code:
$alt = str_replace("Part 1", "", $_POST[name]);


To check for part 2/3/4/5 I need to have it several times. Is there an easier way of doing it?

Regex to the rescue!

$alt = preg_replace('/Part [12345]/', '', $_POST[name]);
