phpbb3 is about to be released. So what now?

Will l2p shift its board script to phpbb3 ? As far as im aware, it has many mods that all the members requested previously. Yet im not very sure about the cash mod (written by xore ,if im not mistaken)

I do remember Trel saying a while back that there wouldn't be any mods added to this forum because he was going to switch over to phpBB3 when it came out.

I prefer a self-modded phpBB2 intead of phpBB3. That's why I'm not going to switch in my community. But here, at LP, is the same thing for me

I also remember Trel saying he was going to wait until a stable release in order to switch. So, I think in a few months we will have phpBB3 here

Modifications will have to be ported for compatibility with phpBB3. I believe Xore has been working on the cashMOD for phpBB3 already, but it will have to be modded again for L2P's specific scenario.

L2P will eventually migrate to phpBB3 (I am pretty sure, anyway), but don't expect it soon.

According to a blog post by Xore, he already had Cash MOD ready for phpBB 3.

I am not sure if I was right or wrong, but you can ask him yourself.

But since we are not using Cash MOD (we are using the Pay By Post Points (PBPP) System by Xore), it might take some time.

And we might need to test the PBPP system on phpBB 3.
