I started working on a design for my online portfolio recently. I want to create one because I really enjoy making websites and messing around with graphics software, but I never really get the chance to show it off on the Web. I also think I’ll be more willing to experiment if I can immediately dump the result in a showcase.

Since this is (only) a mockup, I am looking for a bit of constructive feedback. So tell me what you think.

You can view the mockup and read about my considerations while creating it on my weblog.

Thanks for reviewing! Smile

I think the concept is decent, in terms of aesthetic, and your reasons for doing it. I did have a couple questions though, in terms of the design. You said you used the ripped paper to make it less "clinical" but perhaps those elements could have a communication behind them. For example, it's working right now because it's ripped paper for "Print", but what happens when you use it in the "Web" section; it won't really make sense. So why not use another element for every section? That makes sense to that specific section. Just an idea.

The images also look quite big too me. Are these going to act as thumbnails that will expand when you click on them? It seems like they are too big for thumbnails and too small for full sized previews.

Other than that I think everything is quite nice.
